Real Doll Makeovers for Kids...No More Bratz.

Here's something that is going viral around the world! TREE CHANGE DOLLS.

An Australian Mom who is giving old dolls a makeover......not just any makeover, but one that most Moms will think is wonderful! And about time too!

Why do little girls have to have dolls that look like prostitutes? What is wrong with toy manufacturers?

Check these out.....new life for old dolls that are like real little friends, instead of over sexualised trollops.

What a great idea!! Recycling at its best!

Dang, she's awfully judgemental.
Prostitutes & trollops are people too, & are doing nothing wrong.
There's no need to shame them when making dolls more realistic.

But here's something which makes me wanna puke up this morning's haggis!!!

Reading the title made me wonder why are there Real Dolls for kids. Then read the OP and went "oh, it's not those Real Dolls"

I am quite amazed that this thread has only had responses from males (correct me if I'm wrong...sometimes its hard to tell by avatars)......is it the "dolls" that drew your attention?

Sorry, I led you astray....it isn't "that" kind of doll. (Men!)

The "real" in the thread title was the "makeover" not the doll.

This lady is taking 'slutty' Bratz dolls and transforming them into ordinary wholesome looking little girls. There is a strong message in the appearance of the transformed dolls.....that it is OK to be ordinary....not artificial. Its good to just be you instead of other people's version of how you should look or speak or act.

The Bratz dolls gives young minds the idea that "sexy" is the same as "feminine". But that is just not true. "Sexy" means dressing in a manner that only attracts the wrong kind of attention....the purely lustful kind. No lasting relationship can be based on that alone. (For those interested in lasting relationships that is.)

We are more than our bodies and our clothing. If we want lasting relationships, we need a partner to be attracted to more than just our physical attributes. Who we are as people is so much more important than superficial or artificial things that are purely external.

The ordinary kind of "feminine" can be more attractive for a whole bunch of more noble reasons. Compatibility is more than physical attraction, especially if you believe that we are more than just animals.

What are we subliminally teaching our children? What are the "celebrities" celebrated for? Who are the role models for our children?

Well, how many of them are happy being used as sex objects, catering to someone else's fantasies?
Why would a human being with any self worth want to be treated like that? :( How dehumanising! Ugh!

But here's something which makes me wanna puke up this morning's haggis!!!

Note the length of the skirt. What lawyer in court would wear that? The men in the courtroom would not hear a word she said.

Good grief!

I oppose harshly judging anyone's motivations for doing things which harm no one, so trollops, sluts, prostitutes, bimbos & the like. But consideralso that even people who aren't of those persuasions are also shamed (falsely) the same way. They don't deserve to be dehumanized. Perhaps the doll world needs more diversity.....prostitute Barbie, garbageman Barbie, engineer (nerd) Barbie, & car mechanic Barbie.

Well, she's only about 8" tall, so of course her skirt would be short.
And in doll court, no one listens to anyone.

I beg to differ. Trollops, sluts, prostitutes, and even bimbos do cause harm.....they give womankind a bad name. They teach men to disrespect women. They make me ashamed of the female gender. If the ideas are planted by toy manufacturers then I believe something needs to be done.

But consider also that even people who aren't of those persuasions are also shamed (falsely) the same way. They don't deserve to be dehumanized. Perhaps the doll world needs more diversity.....prostitute Barbie, garbageman Barbie, engineer (nerd) Barbie, & car mechanic Barbie.

No one deserves to be dehumanised......but when people do it to themselves, what then?

I have a feeling that all those diverse Barbies would still look like anorexic hookers.

That's true. :p Dumb dolls!

Some people might feel shame when others are loose & wanton. But isn't that really their problem because they impose their prudish judgement on others? For consenting adults to be sexually active (including professionally) is not harmful. (I'm of course looking at this from a secular perspective, & ignoring religious objections.)

Even if one believes that someone is dehuminizing themselves, what good is there in exacerbating it?

There's an old saying (slightly cleaned up here)......
You wanna get screwed....hire a lawyer.
You want justice....hire a prostitute.

I wouldn't say bratz dolls look like "prostitutes" a prostitue can look like anyone.
They just look adult and unrealistic and hyper feminine. But I take issue with dolls in general because the are mostly marketed to girls and do nothing for a child's development like what "boys" toys do.

"Ordinary kind of feminine" *giggle* gender roles are harmful regardless.
The ordinary kind of feminine as in the "good idolised wife" kind that you seem to be talking about eroded my self esteem and was just as damaging to me as the porn culture kind.
Both are unrealistic and dehumanise women and girls.

How does she change the nose that much? Or turn the fellatio pout into a toothy grin?

Plastic surgery for dolls? What do you do it with? Hot iron molds?
Why not just make new ones.

I'd guess there was plastic surgery by cutting & sanding, & then painting.
Very professional job, btw.

Can you just bear in mind that there are women and girls and even males with lips like that. It's not a fellatio pout, it's normal.

As an art piece it definitely makes a statement.

As a toy though, investing fifty hours of skilled craftsmanship isn't a good way to reach USonian youth.

And I am obviously looking at it from "Biblical" perspective, rather than the "worldly" one.
I actually value chastity and good morals. Those who think we are nothing more than highly evolved animals are inclined to excuse those who behave like them.
Animals can be forgiven for their conduct because they have no moral sense.....we do, so it is a choice to behave immorally on our part.,

Even if one believes that someone is dehuminizing themselves, what good is there in exacerbating it?

Shame and guilt are not feelings in humans that are meant to just flog them and make them feel bad, nor are they meant to be ignored. They are designed to facilitate a change in a person's behavior....one that will make those feelings of self-loathing go away. One of the first steps is to realized what part of you needs "feeding". Spiritually 'malnourished' people are always looking for those things in life that make them feel better. How many turn to substance abuse or food to fill the hole? Some think that an abundance of material things will make them happy, but this too is empty. It is a fantasy promoted by the commercial world to part you from your money.

The best things in life...aren't things!

Those who think that physical attraction alone makes for good relationships are always in line for heartache. We are spiritual beings, designed for a spiritual life with others who are like minded. Those who deny their spirituality or exchange it for materialism are always running on "empty". The spiritual part of them is not fed and it withers and dies.....they are never whole people after that. Always searching but never finding for the most part....:(

There's an old saying (slightly cleaned up here)......
You wanna get screwed....hire a lawyer.
You want justice....hire a prostitute.

Sad but true in this world.
