If you think the Bible prohibits lesbianism, you did, because it doesn't.

I understand that you have your own peculiar religious beliefs, and you're entitled to them. What on earth makes you think they have any application to people who don't share your religion? Do you give up beef because Hindus think it's sinful?

O.K. great. Now persuade me that the Bible contains God's word, or that there is any such thing as God. Good luck.

I don't think anyone wishes you to remain quite about your beliefs, but rather that you would simply be honest about your beliefs. None of us have any illusions that there aren't a lot of homophobes out there - it would just be refreshing for one of them to be honest about their hatred of gays stemming from their homophobia.

That's good. It doesn't have anything to do with the discussion, but it's good that you don't remember that.

Now, as to the rule of setting a slave free in the seventh year, it only applied to Hebrew slaves. It did not apply to Gentile slaves. So unless you can show that the African-American slaves in the U.S. were Hebrews, there's no basis for accusing U.S. slaveholders of not following that rule.

You really should read your Bible sometime. If you did, you might be able to follow along better when the Bible is being discussed.

There are so many people who believe they are the messenger of God...

Never the less, morality is more then just an empty word for obidience. The will of God has nothing to do with right or wrong, and not does the concept of sin.

No, no one here is trying to take away your rights because you're heterosexual. All we're asking for is the same rights you enjoy.

No one here is implying that the Nazis committed their horrific acts because they were heterosexual, only you are slandering innocent gay victims of the holocaust. You really owe us an apology for that; it was truly reprehensible.

Well no, you didnt..but other people havefor example... the word homosexual does appear in some versions of the biblebut only since the 20th century.... (go figure)

the idea that homosexuality is condemned in the bible has been shown in other threads to be problematic... if one actually bothers to examine the bible from a scholarly position, the question of homosexual condemnation stands on shaky ground...

in other words, you may not have a leg to stand on

In addition to this we also find that:

• Jesus never mentions homosexuals...
• David loved a man above all women, suggesting bisexual relations with one of God's favored biblical figures (afterall we are following the bible letter for letter)
• Lesbian groups are never really mentioned at all in the bible, in any shape or form (even those good old modern re-written hate filled bibles)

So once again your views are hypocritical, lack foundation and are essentially rooted in irrational hatred.

But then who ever said bigots had to be rational?

As one who loves the message of Jesus, I find the hatred placed before us, by many, in his name..to frankly be horrific

but as someone wise and close to me often says... "It's all about agenda, that is the problem, agenda"
