Religious Affiliation & Side Taken Regarding Israel

I disagree, & base this on many many discussions over
decades with Christians (the overwhelming power here).

Religious tribalism is the foundation of this conflict.

I recall in Edward Said's 'Propaganda and War' he wrote that despite a large majority of American people supporting the Palestinian struggle for liberation, these same people typically see Palestinians as uncompromising aggressors who obstruct the peace process against their own interest.

He goes on to say that while Americans support the Palestinian struggle, most identify more with Israelis because of the constant dehumanization of the Palestinian in the media and popular historical accounts. However he goes on to address directly that the average perspective of the American of Israeli's is 'not a great deal better'.

I've found that Christian fanaticism for Zionism is often driven by a guilty consciousness easing itself with a proclamation of support for Jews.
The Palestinians have been paying the cost of such for far too long.
