I can see the truth in that. I suppose that would mean even atheists, anti-theists and the like could also be considered religious people.
Yes, though that's not usually what someone means when they use the phrase "religious people." To be honest, I rarely know what "religious people" means when anybody uses it. I suspect folks mean "someone who identifies with a religion" by "religious people," except then it gets really confusing for me when statements that follow fail to actually apply to the group being discussed. That group of people designated by "someone who identifies with a religion" applies to something like three-quarters of the world population. It's pretty hard to say much about three-quarters of the world's population and be accurate about it, yeah?
I guess I like to encourage folks to avoid using phrases like "religious people" or whatever when they really mean to talk about some specific belief found in particular forms of religion that some "religious people" accept. It keeps those of us who aren't whatever sort of "religious people" the person is talking about from getting confused and/or upset, plus the added bonus of helping us appreciate cultural diversity.
