Religious rituals

Sure, some religions are less ritualistic than others. I might consider the rule that Baha’i “temples” be nine-sided to be a ritualistic custom.
Yes, I agree about temple being nine sided as a ritual. I hadn't considered that before. The number 9 in our faith is itself probably ritualistic. There are 9 members in our Universal House of Justice, and also more local bodies like our National Spiritual Assemblies or local Spiritual Assemblies. The numbers 5 and 19 are also significant to lesser degree.

It was on fire when I laid down on it.
If you are speaking about the “folk masses” that became popular after Vatican 2, then I agree wholeheartedly. In those, the music is simply anticlimactic. Personally, when there is music, I prefer all the antiphonae and such in Latin. In fact, even though Ecclesiastical Latin pronunciation bugs the heck out of me in its deviation from proper Classical speech, I prefer the Mass in Latin, but then, I have studied Latin and can follow along.
I really don't much care for the Latin masses because they don't really seem to follow the missalette and that irritates me so I spend most of my time flipping through a book and trying to keep up.

I dated a woman back in 1964-1967 who was Catholic whereas I was Lutheran, and I went to mass with her several times and really thought it was special. In the pews were booklets to help with the translation to English. I still somewhat miss it, and I truly miss her as well as she changed my life in ways I could never have anticipated. However, I definitely did marry the right woman because she was more compatible.

Thus the reason for vulgar masses having been made available. It helps to know Latin in a Latin Mass.
Well, it would be very helpful if the priests actually stayed on point but so far I can't figure out what exactly they are doing.

Well, congrats on marrying the right woman! That's pretty dang important, I'd say.

We still have missalettes and they are very handy but the mass that I attend, while it's at the Cathedral and is therefore about as close to a high mass as one can get without actually being AT A HGIH MASS every single week, is still done in English which I find to be very, very pertinent and helpful overall.
