I think it was by design but I have no proof for thisHow did we get from Lincoln to Creationism.
Lincoln, in his most famous speech, said that all men are created equal and are endowed by their creator with certain rights. He even said this was "self evident" meaning an intelligent person could see it without proof.
As to the OP - I see a big difference between teaching about a historical figure who was religious, and endorsing the actural religion.
Yersterday I mispelled it as acutal X.xActural? Ha ha! You made a typo, and since this is the internet, I get to make fgun of you!
Aw, dammit!
And evolution isn't?There is nothing to "teach" from creationism, it's speculative
It makes more sense...Oh, so a quack from 3,000 years ago saying that we came from dust is somehow better?
No, there is no model of creation that demonstrates, explains, and predicts. Most peole get confused with the specifics, when it's the actual process that is being recognized as non-speculative.And evolution isn't?
Evolution doesn't say we come from nothing, this is abiogenesis. It makes more sense...
Evolution = we came from nothing.
Creationism = we came from God.
Evolution = we came from nature. It makes more sense...
Evolution = we came from nothing.
Creationism = we came from God.
Not if its indoctrination... Evolution is a religious theory by some quack who said we all come from a rock.
Straw-manning at its very finest (or very worst, depending on how you look at it).It makes more sense...
Evolution = we came from nothing.
Creationism = we came from God.
Lincoln, in his most famous speech, said that all men are created equal and are endowed by their creator with certain rights. He even said this was "self evident" meaning an intelligent person could see it without proof. Where were the atheists 150 years ago? why were there no riots in the streets and calls for impeachment because of this obvious attempt to force religion on people? Today a politician would have to say all men are evolved equal and are endowed by evolution with certain rights. Surely all the little atheist children are offended when they read the history books and read about this attempt by Lincoln to force religion on them. and what does a teacher say when a student asks"what is a creator" and the teacher is only allowed to talk about evolution? the only solution is to remove all references to Lincoln from history books. this will also make the white supremasists happy because they do not want to read but the freeing of the slaves. so everyone wins.
Creationism can be taught in schools.I'd rather throw out evolution instead, but that won't ever happen even though my tax dollars are paying for it. If Creationism cannot be taught than neither should evilution be taught. As for honest Abe, no thanks he stays!
If your goal is to make yourself look like a complete idiot you are succeeding. It makes more sense...
Evolution = we came from nothing.
Creationism = we came from God.
If we remove someone from history books because he or she said something that certain people disagreed with, there would be no one left in any history books at all.
Of course, for some presidential candidates, that's just fine; they don't want anyone to learn history anyway...If we remove someone from history books because he or she said something that certain people disagreed with, there would be no one left in any history books at all.
I'm confused. Are you talking about the Gettysburg Address or the Declaration of Independence? Because it wasn't Lincoln who penned those things you mention, they are actually to be found in the Declaration of Independence; however Lincoln refers to these concepts from the DOI in the GA.Lincoln, in his most famous speech, said that all men are created equal and are endowed by their creator with certain rights. It's a theory (or series of theories) in the true scientific meaning of the word 'theory'.And evolution isn't?
