Respectful question.

I have a question for Christians. Why do you interpret what is written as "obey the law" and not "keep the law"?
To obey it means you serve it. To keep it means it serves you.

God created His law and we should obey it, just as a child should obey his father and mother. Laws are things we should and shouldn't do. God clearly tells us to not do this, but rather do this. You can choose to obey or to not obey "the Law". There are consequences for our choices, we've been learning that since we could walk and talk. But we must also keep the law because law is in place to protect us as well. If there weren't a Law by which all thing adhere to, we would have chaos.

I believe true Christians come under the authority and law of the Christ. Jesus gave new commands to his disciples, while releasing them from the Law of Moses.(Galatians 6:2) Preeminent is the command that they love one another. (John 13:34,35) While conscience does play a role in decisions Christians make, as 1 Corinthians 9:21 affirms: " I am not without law toward God but under law toward Christ,"

Very well said! When scripture is your guide you might go wrong but it is you who is wrong, never the scripture.
