I think only God has the answer to all the questions we wonder about and I trust Him with those answers. He does reveal repeatedly in the scriptures that Jesus is the Savior of the world, so that is sufficient for me to understand that forgiveness and eternal life is only through Christ. How that exactly works out for all people of the world, in all places, before Christ, or who never heard the name of Christ; I believe and trust God about it because God is just, gracious, and righteous.
