RF annoyances...

I dislike it when people I agree with argue in a rude, hypocritical, or mean-spirited way. It's somehow worse when it's one of your own screwing up like that.

Come on! What on RF annoys you?!

Get it out why not? Vent a little!

People trying to argue subjectively on the objective or objectively on the subjective, it's like watching people tryin to play a squash game with no walls.

Pretty much everything has said here, minus the random innuendos. They're funny. :D

Basically, just rudeness, super-off-topic "there is no God"/"God loves you read verse 18, 20, 25, 27, 38, 50, ... 389 ... 2225874734 as proof!", and being ignored. And some other stuff. :D

I hate when I'm ignored in a debate when I think I've made a good point.. and I know I'm not alone in that.

Silly Penguin, That is how you can tell if you have won the debate. If people are posting right and left replying to you and suddenly stop, you know you won!

7. People who ask for a cite, but never post any proof to the contrary.
8. people who ask for a cite, and then debunk the site. Just because you don't like something does not make it true or false. In other words prove the unprovable.

When I ask for a cite, I'm really saying, Are you making this up? When someone produces, that does not prove them wrong or right, it just shows that they are not just making up things.

9. People who make the debate personal. If you cannot win a debate on substance, make it personal.

10.People who want to change your point of view. They act like there is only one option and anyone who sees anything differently must be automatically stupid.

My frubal meter constantly goes on the fritz. I know I should have accumulated a lot more frubals than some of these members.

*It annoys me that you can talk about every war religion has ever made, but the talk of e.g. drugs is forbidden.
*It annoys me when people keep saying in threads that there are more kinds of God than the christian one. Sometimes the thread is about the christian one only, get over it! EDIT: This was a hype specially a few moths ago, thankfully that's lessened now :p EDIT2: I do realize that is because back then too many (atheist) threads were about the christian God only, that was indeed annoying as well.
*It annoys me that there are not enough lunatics here, I hope to meet a crazy person every day..
*Instead we get too many idiots.

threads that debate semantic's
threads that use big words when small words would have sufficed
mods that use a to fine comb, to rid this forum from mayham, a bit of chaos in its time is fun

and somewhere in cyberspace UltraViolet heartbroken sobs, and you can just make out the halting, strangled words "I am doing the best I can, I am just one person"

But it's people like you who fail to assist UltraViolet in her endeavours that would bring on this breakdown.

One that you mentioned, U_V, about how an atheist will jump into a debate just to say that there is no god, when it isn't even the topic.
When a theist (usually Christians do this) posts several quotes in a row instead of answering the question themselves. I've got nothing against posting verses themselves, but but with some sort of explanation.
When someone says right out you are wrong instead of "I disagree with you"- as if your opinion doesn't matter. (semantics, I know).
I don't like my posts being totally ignored, but I learned a long time ago that this is sometimes going to happen. I am happy to say, however, that it happens much less here at the RF than on any other forum I have ever belonged to. :)

Done here.
  • People who express anti-gay bigotry with the disclaimer that they really love gay people, and even have gay friends and family members, but are anti-gay for the good of society -- or even for the good of gay people themselves. Or who claim that they used to be in favor of gay rights, but changed their mind because "the gays" were so mean to the Mormons after Prop 8.
  • People who post in a thread just to denigrate the people posting: Nothing intelligent here. I see you're all off on another useless rant.
  • People who think they can "prove" some idiotic notion.
  • People who confidently claim that the Bible says something it doesn't say, or who insert inappropriate citations of the Bible into their writing. You have to accept Jesus as your personal savior (John 3:16).
  • People who demand an internet citation, and act like you're lying if you don't have a link for them.
  • People who want to know why there are atheists here. I used to find it amusing, but the thrill is gone.
