Yeah. I figure Dawkins ought to at least have said something controversial -- you know, to build book sales.

He said "stronger", not "weaker".Something like suggesting feeding us to Lions? :biglaugh:
What would be wrong with as book that reads as a basic attempt at refuting fundamentalist, ID believing Christianity but nothing else? If that was what he set out to do, and that is what he did, what is wrong with that?Well, in my opinion, he didn't do a very good job because it reads as a basic attempt at refuting fundamentalist, ID believing Christianity but nothing else.
Perhaps he'll deal with other religions in the second half.
Nothing, if you look back at the comments I replied to it was suggested the book was aimed at all theistic religion.fantôme profane;1340471 said:What would be wrong with as book that reads as a basic attempt at refuting fundamentalist, ID believing Christianity but nothing else? So called Christianity in a word is hypocrisy and blindness to who God is.So enlighten me, along with all the other people on here, as to what the difference is between Christianity (tm) and "so-called Christianity"...
I think you'll find that Christianity is christianity is christianity.
But here we're just getting into word definitions...
Science was my major so probably higher than seventh grade if you don't mind.
It is not worth the effort.Perhaps, Dawkins should investigate Muslim's assertion of the Qur'an being scientific.

I did that some years ago already. Frankly ... it is actually a waste of time to even consider writing something about so obviously a false claim.
Yeah, and he would spend all the money from those sales, and all the money from his previous book sales, on round-the-clock security for the rest of his life.So you don't think Dawkins would find it remotely challenging?
If he did it right, his book sales should skyrocket, if a Muslim cleric or two were to issue a fatwa against Dawkins.

How would you define "evolution". Just curious.
The claims are so idiotic that i doubt anybody could find it challenging. I didn't find it challenging either when i did it.So you don't think Dawkins would find it remotely challenging?
I don't call it evolution, but it seems that through the millenniums God has slowly been revealing himself to us as we can take it in.
When i read Genesis 1 i can't help but wonder how anybody could relate that to reality. There mere idea that plants came before the sun is somewhat unrealistic.I know nothing creates itself but what God said in the beginning in Genesis 1 continues to manifest itself to us in one way or another.
The same thing that's wrong with saying that those of you who are irreligious-minded should keep it to yourselves.I don't understand why Dawkins recieves all this flak for voicing his opinion. (A harmless one if you ask me.) He never said he wants to destroy religion or religious thought. He doesn't want to force your children into atheistic thought. All I've ever seen, heard, or read him say is that those of you who are religious minded, should keep it to yourselves. Plain and simple. What's so wrong about that?
The same thing that's wrong with saying that those of you who are irreligious-minded should keep it to yourselves.
Well, let's see. You're here talking about it, are you not?How exactly have I not kept it to myself?
I could ask the same. What devine, infallible agenda have I pushed onto anyone?
The Ancestor's Tale is pretty cool. But The Selfish Gene is great.
