Here we have a person that rapes children, then joins looters and arsonists, setting dumpsters and buildings to fire, threatening 4 people that he will kill them, tries to grab a rifle from a person who incidently tried to run away from the immediate threat and was cought, wrestled this person, and the victim defends himself by shooting such a crazy pervert, and you say it has nothing to do with this case!

He shot one attacker. He shot him after having chosen not to withdraw safely after several opportunities to identify Rosenbaum as a threat, but technically, in that moment, Rosenbaum was attacking him (unarmed).

The other two people he shot (and the third person who he shot at) were attempting to stop an active shooter fleeing the scene of his first shooting.

Rittenhouse was not innocent.

Anyone who brought guns into that situation was acting foolishly, but the closest to a "good guy with a gun" in the whole incident was Grosskreutz.

Rittenhouse had the right to preserve his own life, but he could have exercised that right by withdrawing after any of the earlier times that Rosenbaum threatened him.

If we believe Rittenhouse's story, he decided that his under-the-table job as an unlicensed security guard was more important than taking the easiest, most obvious choice he had available to protect his life.

This is what's so often conveniently overlooked, that the two killed trying to stop Rittenhouse from shooting (again) were trying to prevent him from shooting anyone else.

I would not go as far as calling "An American hero" however, I do think he was in fact defending himself and Biden as well as the rest of the politicians and media that rushed to defame owe him an apology, at the very least. I am surprised he has not sued yet, something tells me he will. Let's see

If someone is threatening your life and there's a line of cops just down the street, you should move so the line of cops is between you and the person threatening to kill you.
