Robots

Sleeppy

Fatalist. Christian. Pacifist.
We're All Just Robots.. Humans Only Have More And Differing Options With Our Responses And Experiences Than Most Other Life Forms.. Or Actual Robots. Free Will Becomes More And More Illusory With The More Options We Have To "Choose" From, And With Less Knowledge Of Them, Their Number, And The Reasoning Behind Them. This Is More Our World, Than A Robot's.. Because Of Our Connection To It.

I'm Christian. And Because Of This, I Actually Came To, And Have A Better Understanding Of This Idea.

I Also Suggest That Robots Indeed Have A Lower Level Consciousness. Random And Weird? ;)

Do you realise that your post is made much harder to read by capitalising every word ? It may be Your Own Personal Style, but it will discourage lots of people from reading your posts, and irritate those who do.

Maybe we should wonder why it's irritating you or so easily discouraging you.. To me, that's a more important and intriguing question.

No, not really.

ALL CAPS posts are always annoying...

...not important or intriguing to point out...they just always are.

Robots don't really have 'consciousness' at all. They are purely mechanisms, with stimulus-response patterns which may mimic consciousness.

A cartoon looks like living creatures at some level, because of the human tendency called 'animism', the same tendency which we all (or most of us) experienced as children, when we felt that teddy bears or dolls were alive in some way.

It is no evidence of consciousness in robots, only evidence of a human tendency to project anthropomorphically.

Conciousness is just a thought process like any other. There's no reason to think a robot can't do it.

What is consciousness? How does it differ from the mimicking of 'mechanisms, with stimulus-response patterns?'

Also what evidence is there for consciousness in humans?
