Rush Limbaugh Believes the Poor Don't Deserve Healthcare

Socialized Health Insurance. Socialized medicine is probably the best propaganda word utilized by the right. In fact, all a right-wing commentator has to say is the word "socialism" and all the little sheep cower in fear and become ready to "take back" this country for the god-like Founding Fathers.

Mr Sprinkes - I said one thing. That people are not turned away from the ED. That's all. I don't disagree with all this other stuff. And I support universal health care. I have had many conversations about this on this forum, some of them with you and with mball. I have no idea why you both are challanging me.

Because you were arguing semantics. We all know people aren't turned away from the ER. There was no use in making the point you were making. It was like correcting him with "I don't care which god it is in which you believe" when he said "I don't care which god you believe in".

They most certainly are.

Kreisman Law Offices has over 30 years of experience handling emergency department malpractice cases in Chicago and Illinois. One recent case dealt with the death of our client after she was turned away from a Chicago emergency room department. The medical staff failed to treat her brain tumor which led to her death later that evening. We worked hard for her family and the case was settled at a pretrial conference for over $2 million.

Wow, you really are mixed up. The firstpart was sarcasm. The Fed actually does buy T-Bills in order to create money. It's called Monetezation of Debt.

Ok, now you're just trying to confuse me. Let me go through this again:

You said that everyone who works is a conservative. I asked you if this was sarcasm. You said yes.

You also said that the federal reserve could just print more money and everything would be good. I assumed that that was sarcasm, because I assumed that no one could possibly be stupid enough to think that you could just print money for everyone so no one has to work (that's what it sounded like you were saying).
And, eh, care to tell me what that link has to do with anything said? You're not exactly being clear =/.

That's socialized medicine.

Socialized - everyone is covered. Medicare/Medicaid - poor people are covered.

Why do you think the Gov should have to pay the hospital bills of rich and middle class people?

The government tends to do very poorly at judging what people can afford. Besides, even though the government pays the bills, we can just raise taxes (especially on the rich).

They wouldn't. The rich and middle class people would pay the bills - through taxes.

The middle/rich already pay taxes. That is not the point.

Why should the gov take care of people who can take care of themselves? Why pay medical bills of rich/middle class?

(Yes, they can clean up what the line between poor and middle is)

Gov coverage for everyone is overdoing it.

I already told you. The government wouldn't be paying for medical insurance for anyone. That would be paid for by taxes. In other words, it would be paid for by the middle and upper classes.

Gov coverage for everyone is overdoing it.

Why?

The whole point of insurance is that when you are wealthy and healthy you pay into a system, and the deal is you get piece of mind that you will get some help if/when you become elderly, poor, or disabled. (Even if you don't get anything in return it's just the right thing to do.)

The taxes we pay actually do this, to the limited extent they are allowed to. So the real question is why are we all paying huge sums of money to go to the profits of a health insurance industry that passes on the real costs of healthcare to taxpayers?

How do you think deficit spending gets paid for? The Treasury issues Treasury Bills. The Fed buys the Bills in order to create new money. This is how, in part, the added deficit of offering universal Madical coverage to everyone.

I'm sure I'm misunderstanding you here. The treasury issues bills, and the Fed buys the bills - with what? Print more money? That would cause inflation problems.

Besides, this wasn't the original discussion. THIS was the statement I'm confused about...
Yes, but then there would be no one left working to pay for it. Oh, wait the Fed could buy Treasury Bills and create new money...nevermindthen.
"Create new money" implies that new money will be printed, which would cause inflation, and I was wondering if you were being serious, or just making fun of liberals by assuming that that's what they believe (that you could print money instead of working and still be ok).

Where in that clip do you get that Rush says that the poor don't deserve healthcare?
Well, Limbaughs own words were "whats the difference" when referring to the beach house and health care. It becomes more obvious that Limbaugh is fighting for the rich if you watch the whole interview.

Sometimes spending pays off in the long run. This is called "investment". The CBO estimated the HR bill would save $109 billion over 10 years.
