"MUMBAI: The Bombay High Court on Tuesday disbanded the 15-member committee of the Shri Saibaba Sansthan Trust, which manages the affairs of one of the richest temples in India-the Saibaba temple at Shirdi. Hearing a public interest litigation filed by two Shirdi residents, which said that the committee had carried on way beyond its legal tenure, Justice Naresh Patil and Justice T V Nalawade of the Aurangabad bench of the high court directed the state government to appoint a new committee, failing which, it said, a three-member panel would be given the reins of the temple's administration."

At the moment, Shri Jayant. D. Kulkarni, Principal District Judge, Ahmednagar (Chairman), Dr.Sanjeev Kumar, The Collector, Ahmednagar (Member), and Shri Ajay More, Sub Divisional Officer, Shirdi, manage the affairs of the Trust.

So there are a devotees that want to propagate the word of sai. What happens if there is an interpretation issue with scriptures then or opinion on a controversial issue? Is there one person in charge who can answer administrative and spiritual disputes or is it more like each temple deals with their own issues?

I'm not quite sure what you mean. What scriptures? Frankly speaking there are no controversial issues.

Lol why are you still posting on my thread? You're a disgrace.

Why are you insulting him? You do not own this tread. Controversial issues are issues where the religion influences the decision made by a person. sai's version of hinduism is different from another branch so it may or may not have different views on controversial topics. If you do not want to answer questions then go photoshop pictures.

I am just asking who is in charge and how do they make decisions. Obviously there would be no need to worship sai if he concurred with all the practices to hinduism of that time? Where there any new perspectives or concepts introduced by him are all valid questions.

I created this thread for positive posts and experiences with Sai Baba. Don't come here and discuss negative things like conspiracies and rumors. I can insult him if I want to because he's constantly posting garbage on this thread and I have to keep reporting it and getting his posts removed. Which photos have I photoshoped lol? I told you the trust is in change and they make decisions. Many Sai Baba devotees (including myself) believe Sai ram was an incarnation of Shivaji. That's why he is worshipped. He was a saint.

iamsharkey, are you Hindu?

I have several reasons to doubt that you are. One is that you spoke very strongly against idol worship, calling it stupid. This is a common Christian criticism of Hinduism, born of misunderstanding.

Your words.. "Idolatry is a pathetic practice if it uses resources that could be used to help people."

Secondly, your general attitude is just unfriendly. This is not the Hindu way.

So please just answer me honestly. Are you a Hindu?

BTW, there is no debating allowed in DIRs.

Of course the temples will be vegetarian, almost all are. In the Sai Baba mandirs there is usually murti's of Ganeshji and Hanumanji and other deities as well..But I don't think theres a problem if you eat meat and then go to the Sai Baba mandir's as long as you wash your hands etc..For regular temples I only go when I haven't consumed meat that day.

The only Hindu group I know of that is so anti-murthi as you is Arya Samaj, and mostly they stay quiet about it, keeping that thinking to themselves, in the spirit of Hindu Solidarity.

If you hate Hinduism so much , why are you still a Hindu? (You could convince me otherwise by saying some nice things about our faith, you know. But so far I have only seen the negative.) :)

Now that is serious. No intelligent Hindu can Hindu object to idol worship. Firstly because he/she is not supposed to comment on the beliefs of other Hindus, and secondly because idols worship is a revered mind-conditioning technique. But then, he said he is half Hindu, half Muslim.

Also, adding Gods and Goddesses to an already over-flowing pantheon is blasphemous and leads to pitfalls. Even Narayan Swami or Swami Nithiyananda (of the youtube fame, there is another Swami Nithiyananda who is a regular sannyasi) posed to be avataras. I do not know if the persons themselves claimed that or it is those who profit in their name by fooling people. It is sad.

However, if one believes in 'advaita', everyone and everything is Brahman, and no one has a claim to be special.

Friend sb,

Happen to be presently stationed at Visakhapatnam since 1990. There are 2 Shridi Sai Baba temples here of which one is walking distance from where am staying.

Both Shirdi Sai baba and satya Sai Baba has a strong following in Andhra.

Though am not a temple goer but have been to Puttaparthi to meet friends who were visiting Satya Sai Baba and not for any spiritual purpose and though not very keen but if opportunity arises shall visit Shirdi too.

Wish you all the best for your pilgrimage!

Love & rgds
