Scary Trump: Fails Basic Literacy Test; Way Of Speaking Is "Oddly Adolescent"

I'm not troubled by his speech, because in the end it doesn't matter. He either does what he promises, or doesn't. In the end, that's all I care about. All this other stuff is completely irrelevant... :D
Must be nice not to care about all the other stuff he's done for himself, and against the good of the country, such as:

Fired the director of the FBI for failing to demonstrate personal loyalty to him.

Tried to intimidate his former FBI director into silence by threatening to release secret recordings of their conversations.

Encouraged America’s intelligence chiefs to undermine the FBI’s Russia probe.

Undermined international cooperation on climate change — and America’s credibility on the world stage — out of mindless spite.

Mendaciously accused London’s first Muslim mayor of being indifferent to terrorism, hours after a terrorist attack in London.

Shared highly classified Israeli intelligence with a core ally of Israel’s top geopolitical foe.

Then, accidentally, publicly confirmed that he had done so.

Abandoned an alliance with a longtime Middle East ally over Twitter.

Praised a foreign leader for his policy of sanctioning the extrajudicial killings of thousands of suspected drug dealers and users.

Released a budget with a $2 trillion math error.

Shoved the prime minister of Montenegro out of his way, so that he could stand at the front of a group of NATO leaders.

Disputed the Office of Government Ethics’s legal authority to oversee government ethics.

Allowed the Justice Department to prosecute a woman for laughing at Jeff Sessions.

Knowingly hired a paid agent of the Turkish government as his national security adviser.

Signed Yad Vashem’s Book of Remembrance as though it were a middle-school yearbook.

Baselessly accused President Obama’s national security adviser of committing a crime — after his White House conspired with the head of the House Intelligence Committee to foment a false scandal.

On the 96th day of his presidency, unveiled a tax-reform plan that was less detailed than the blueprint he had campaigned on.

Threatened to sabotage America’s insurance markets as a means of coercing Democrats into voting for his plan to finance a large tax cut for the rich by throwing millions off of Medicaid.

Said he was “absolutely” considering “breaking up” the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.

Decided to upend the North American economy to win a desired headline — then changed his mind when he was informed that people who voted for him would be among those most adversely impacted by such a measure.

Refused to turn over documents on his first national security adviser’s financial relationships with foreign governments, despite requests from the House Oversight Committee.

Allowed the State Department’s website to advertise his Florida resort.

Had his daughter meet with the Chinese president the same day that her company won trademarks from the Chinese government.

Praised a cable-news anchor who was fired for serial sexual harassment, days after declaring April “National Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month.”

Baselessly accused his predecessor of illegally wiretapping his phones.

Allowed his White House to defame the intelligence agency of a core U.S. ally for the sake of defending the infallibility of his tweets.

Suggested that being wiretapped by Barack Obama was the one thing he and the prime minister of Germany had in common.

Gave his daughter an office in the White House and a security clearance — while keeping her immune from conflict-of-interest laws.

Etc.

Etc.

Etc.

Are you a socialist? I know the socialists hate him. I did great in life under capitalism. Doubt I would have done as well under socialism.

This has nothing to do with capitalism vs. socialism. You can be either and still recognize when someone is feckless and inept. It's cute how people will bend over backwards in a desperate attempt to defend Trump's incompetence and lack of integrity; all because he happens to represent their corner of the political spectrum. Blind, uncritical hero worship of any politician, regardless of their party, is pathetic.

Rather than address these comments individually it's easier to address them in the context of intent. If the intent is malicious, divisive, deceitful, or not aimed at the truth of the matter none of it needs to be considered. There were many reasons to fire Comey, for example, despite the left's opinion. Everything you've posted here falls exactly in that realm, unfortunately. Trump hasn't broke any laws of the land, or they'd have him roasting on a spit already because the Republicans that don't like him could tip the scale in the House if they pooled with the Dems. It's obvious that it is a nothing burger or actions would have already been taken.

If you can't forgive him for these things he does that are legal, that you don't like, the problem lies not with him, but you. Nothing Trump does or doesn't do will fix that perception, only by deciding it doesn't bother you really are you freed of the rage. If you believe that Trump must pander to you or anyone else when he speaks his mind, again the problem lies with you. Your unhappiness with Trump is your fault not his.

Yet I doubt you held this attitude when Obama was the one in office.

David Pakman, although a liberal, is one of the least credible and reliable political commentators I've ever come across on the net. The OP should not have cited him.

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.

How nice that Trump may not have broken the law. Thing is, it takes more to be the President of the United States than simply remain within the law. Hell, my eight year-old nice qualifies under that criterion, as do I. But I understand your standards: Trump deserves our respect and support as President because

1. He does what he promised, which still remains to be seen.
2. He's not in jail.
Forget the many, many un-presidential transgressions he's committed, as long as

1. He does what he promised, which still remains to be seen.
2. He's not in jail.

He's A-Ok in your book.

I grant you that sometimes he was stretching to make his points, but I like it as a set-up for the video that followed.

Judging political speech, (i.e. rhetoric), by comparison to a normative concept of what it 'should be' rather than with regards to what is effective (i.e the purpose of rhetoric) seems to be a bit mistaken.

Rhetoric can be effective and eloquent (e.g. Obama), or effective and blunt (e.g. Trump), ultimately for a politician, effectiveness is the yardstick.

(Also an obsession over Trump's mental capabilities, while it may be cathartic, already lost the Dems one election.)

I find this amusing: The Top Cable News Programs Of January 2018 Were…

Fox News winning 7 out of the 10 ten slots in viewership in the last month. This is how much America is rejecting the leftist/globalist/elitist media.

Only Rachel Maddow really is presenting any competition at all...
And how many news outlets are there? Only Fox attracts those who want "conservative" propaganda, which is why Murdock said he was creating it in the first place.

IMO, people should make certain that they check many different news outlets so as to not allow themselves to get brainwashed by the talking-heads at Fox that claim all other outlets broadcast "fake news".

I don't know any Hilda. Perhaps an inbuilt fear and prejudice is causing you to substitute the name Hilda for someone else.
And what's so bizarre are those who claim that she's supposedly was a worse choice than the Donald?

So, a woman who has never been fined, indicted, or found guilty of anything is somehow worse that a man who has violated federal and state laws numerous times, has been fined many times, has lost numerous lawsuits for failure to pay back loans and pay subcontractors, has bragged about his many affairs, has committed adultery, has bragged about his penis size and Ivanka's breast size, has been known as being racist and misogynistic, etc., etc. etc....

Weird.
