Wow.
No one has even implied that the register being unconstitutional would make pedophilia legal.
That is one huge leap off the deep end.
Ok, that was kind of fun.
I did say i extrapolate to the most extreme possible situation from where we were.
I know about the registries and i know some of those poor folks are practically innocent.
I actually found two real cases of child sexual abuse pretty close by and have seen both in person. out at the stores near by. I've also been able to check up on 'something' periodically and that has made me feel more secure. I don't know what we would do without them for the valuable information they can provide.
There may have been at one time a constitutional issue with it, but internet neutrality got around that. Once that genie was let out of the bottle no one was putting him back in the bottle. Now what do we do? No one is going to rule those websites out with any new laws any time soon, but IF there were a sudden and large enough movement to really reverse what has already been happening for years now, THEN we might need to consider how this COULD create a more permissive and passive environment and response to childhood sexual abuse. The slippery slope....
I'm not worried about the future anymore, i'm worried for just here and now. Things have already changed and no one is saying anything at all about it.
Pedophilia will never be legal, but if it isn't reported, then we have a very different scenario to somehow deal with.
I've seen something really disturbing and instead of running for my life, i decided to examine it to see if i could learn anything from it. I'm kinda messed up now and really bummed out about it.
I thought there was something more to life and there sort of is, but apparently not if you're an atheist. I KNOW there's no guy God in a white robe. I know what most of human history has really been like for women and children and there has been no protection for them at all. Especially the children. What i have read lately has pretty much finished me off and some of it was even Charles Darwin from 150 years ago. Why should i assume anything is all that different now in many places? I won't describe what i've read and seen or post any links. I just wanted to get a good close look at what seems to be the one single largest driving force for most of human activity and endeavor. I found actually two running neck and neck and hand in hand. Sexuality and Narcissism.
Yuck and "Oh HELL No!"
I just don't like sex all that much and narcissism makes me suicidal if not psychotic.
I've never hated or felt such disgust and hatred for anything as i have for narcissists and i'm one the narcissists need to be afraid of because i am actively seeking secret and invisible ways to destroy them whenever possible.
Sound ultra harsh and a little psychotic? I own it, yes i even do to myself right now.
I've been to see the side of life we don't see from our comfy computer chairs and nice cars, clean neighborhoods and the certainty that we live in a nation ruled over by laws passed by and for the people and the public good. I went over into the 'reflection in the mirror' and found out none of that is there. I also found out that "mirror" is often only feet away, sometimes just inches or even less where ever i go in town. This town is very similar to where i encountered the other side, but distant in miles from there, won't say where. The "mirror' is somewhat further way most of the time if i'm in some ritzy town with lots of golf courses, fancy restaurants and good strong city policing.along with good schools and healthcare, especially psychiatry. When municipalities invest in the mental health services of the community everyone does a lot better, it seems. The mirror is far enough away to almost ignore for most people, but i still see the people from the other side very clearly as if i'm still there and i KNOW to be afraid of them now.
Most unfortunate.
One of the questions i had about them needed a good strong definitive answer: Is there and has there been an unusually high incidence of childhood sexual abuse occurring here?
Yes, to the point of needing to find a completely new way of looking at the problem before any real and truly effective solutions will be found.
If we are going to address this effectively we need to ask the questions:
Where does it really originate in our species and how has it evolved over time?
How does sexual abuse of the young fit into chimp, bonobo and gorilla behaviors?
What evidence do we have for sexual relations in our distant ancestors in archaeological sites and remains?
What does this evidence show, if any exists?
Questions that should be answered by compassionately and fearlessly using the scientific method to answer.
I'm not so against the pedophile guys as i might have sounded at first as they seem almost helpless to resist their urges as someone who is sick or in any other way crippled and suffering. It's all just a mess and our megamedia keeps selling the sexual desire poison to all to us while at the same time forbidding us to partake.
Doesn't look like anything is going to improve anytime soon.
