Seymour Hersh says who took out the Nordstream Pipeline

Well...it was no surprise...
This great journalists says the obvious.
There's a gang of warmongers who have been working on unleashing the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, and isolating Russia, destroying the special relations between Germany and Russia.
And Nordstream was the symbol of this spiritual alliance since German re-unification in 1990.

What should one conclude from this even if it's true? Does it justify Putin's invasion of Ukraine or the numerous war crimes committed by his forces? Does it justify annexing Ukrainian territory?

If someone opposes interventionism in Ukraine, consistency requires that they oppose both American and Russian interventionism. Rejecting one but not the other is blatantly biased and agenda-laden.

It doesn't justify either Putin or the Russian invasion (or special military operation, as they call it).

But if the United States believe the EU will join the US in a hypothetical war against Russians, I guess the US are very delusional. And naïve, above all.

Backstabbing an ally that did nothing to you is the lowest of the lowest.

We (Germany) stepped on a few toes with the Nord Stream pipelines. Poland wasn't happy because they would have favoured a pipeline across Poland, with revenue from the land leases and control over the operation. Norway wasn't happy because the Russian gas was much cheaper than Norwegian gas. The US wasn't happy because we were buddies with their old enemy and they also liked to sell us LNG - which wasn't going to happen as long as we had cheap Russian gas.

All together strong economic reasons to hate Nord Stream. The US already torpedoed the building of Nord Stream II with threats of sanctions to a Swiss corporation. They dropped out of the contract and the Russians picked up the slack.
With that history, nobody should be astonished that the US was the first suspect.

Oh, and about disrespecting allies, does anybody remember when we found out the US wiretapped Angela Merkel? Obama couldn't even believably promise that it wouldn't happen again.

With a friend like the USA, Europe doesn't need enemies.

Not just Europe. The "friendships" the US develops with other countries tend to be more like parasitic or domineering relationships than anything else.

There's a reason many countries readily shifted toward allying with China instead of the US as soon as the opportunity presented itself. That alone speaks volumes considering that China isn't much different in its own self-serving policies.

I am for a multipolar world. Rather than a unipolar world, led by the US.
Considering that the so called West will soon become a very small percentage of the world population.

The Cold War ended for us Europeans. It's a chapter of our history books that has a beginning and an end.
In America's history books the Cold War has never ended.

Why Is Ted Cruz Threatening Angela Merkel?

Tribal mentality rules this world. Barbarians fighting in the name of god, freedom, and democracy, on the side of good vs forces of evil. Justifying pipelines being blown up, sending arms to escalate and prolong this war. Putin and Biden belong in a criminal court and both should be locked up for our own safety.

We have enough of this war.
I used to call conspiracy theorists those who would tell me, one year ago, that this war would last one year, because they crave for WW3.
I couldn't believe such an absurdity. I thought it was a matter of weeks.

No...I was wrong. They do want WW3.

I have been called a Putin sympathizer for condemning this war while people are convinced that the west must escalate this "unprovoked" war at all costs. Cooler heads prevailed during the Cuban missile crisis, but not this time around.

I don't see why we should escalate a war which we harshly condemn. Between two peoples that are basically identical to one another. And should love each other, instead of fighting.

I think that it's very possible that the US blew up the pipeline.

But I consider it unproven. There's a whole list of those that might have done it.

I certainly am unwilling to take Seymour Hersh's word for it. The guy calls himself a "reporter", but like so many 'reporters' these days, seems to be more of an activist sh*t-stirrer. I just viscerally distrust him, especially when explosive claims are supported by anonymous sources.

And the My Lai Massacre that he reported on never happened either I suppose.

For instance, the criminal procedure of my country states that:
If someone threatens to kill a person with a knife, and some time later that person is found dead, stabbed with a knife,
that person is to be blamed because of fumus commissi delicti.
And will probably be jailed.

Russia invades Ukraine.
Ukraine fights back.
The latter is the defender.

It's all pretty simple...unless you think
George Soros is attacking Russia
from his Nazi stronghold in Ukraine.

May I kindly ask you what this has to do with Nordstream?

But Biden never threatened to take out the pipeline, oh wait a minute, yes he did.
