Well,

I for one feel we should repeal the Death Penalty. It has outlived it's usefulness as a deterrent. As for her conversion being merely fire insurance, that is between her and God. He knows certainly what we can only speculate.

:woohoo: Everything is not fine. Consider Saul of Tarsus who after his conversion demonstrated the grace given to him in that he exceeded the labors of the all the other apostles. Making three recorded journeys throughout the empire facing tremendous obstacles; yet he fought through all of them only to be imprisioned and killed fro his testimony. The glory of God in Pauls life is that today his words influence christians world wide we will never know what could have become of Karla Faye Tuckers life (a thousand years from now)if she in prison like Paul who wrote if I'm not mistaken most of his letters from prison. EVERY DAY MANY SUCH POSSIBILITES ARE CUT OFF BY SATAN through our ignorance. When Karla came forth at the end we saw only the beginning of what could have been. :woohoo:
The real apostles of Jesus did not have a chance to do any more good than they did because Paul(the "Liar" of the Dead Sea Scrolls) and the governing authorities that we are supposed to submit to had them killed. Paul was an evil man and if he would have been killed(like the disciples or anyone teaching the truth would have been) instead of allowed to write letters spreading lies, today's christians might follow the teachings of the prophets and messengers including Jesus instead of the teachings of Paul. Who knows what lies Karla could have spread from prison, she could have been just like Paul.

I am seeing quite a bit of "save a christian" and "christians don't shed blood" and my mind is reeling!

On the first...what makes the "saving" of a Christian on death row so much more important than say, a Buddist or a Jew??? or any other religious person for that matter??? Would you be so up in arms if she were to profess her total conversion to the worship of Allah and became a muslim??? or any other deity? What if she was to admit that she was an athiest but was TRULY sorry for the crime that she committed? Where does your basis for clemency start and where does it end???

On the second...you don't EVEN want me to go there!!!!!! Someone of every religion has done horrendous things and shed another's blood, but the wars, crusades, and religious persecution deemed by the Maleus Malificarum, along with other atrocities that Christians in the past have been guilty of then who are you to judge and say that "Christians don't shed blood"??? Everyone has and does and the Christian churches throughout time have sponsored more than their fair share. Try reading another book other than the bible...not like it doesn't have quite a bit of bloodshed in it anyway.

Is it mercy to let a woman who is brain dead spend 15 years in a coma? Is it mercy to allow her suffering to continue? I think not..

But please don't overlook those of us Christians who feel that the penalty should be eliminated FOR EVERYONE. It's not nice to paint with too broad a brush.

I was not painting with a broad brush and I am sorry if it seemed that way to you. My response was mostly directed at Dr. Kahn's post where he seemed so adamant that it was necessary on the part of the president and the government to "save a Christian" on death row. My point was to say that it should be the same for everyone...whether or not the death penalty is the sentence or not...one's sentence should not be adjusted for the reason of conversion...to Christianity or any other religion. I simply ask if he would feel the same if she were to have converted to any other religion or what.

Understand?

Shame on every person in Mass who voted for Kerry.

Liberal left.

I personally think that political parties are rediculous.

Instead of having their own opinions on what's right, they just try to have the opposite opinion of the other.

They want to polarize America so much that it's rediculous.

The republicans swing the doggie-door too far to the right, while the liberals do it too far to the left. I'm surprised the thing hasn't fallen off yet.

If people stepped back and thinked what is best for this country rather than what's worst for my opponent, I guarantee this would be a better place for all of this.

Some things I am liberal, some things conservative.

I am shocked more moderates or independents aren't in power, I truely respect their stance that political parties are polarizers, not "helpers".

Republicrat!

My comprehensive plan is to identify the very small and narrow place which Jesus prescribes for them thaty love him to be. This thread is to identify the Anti-christ in GEorge W. Bush. The Spirit of him that is in our highest office is one of deception. By the time I have finished painting him you should see that his natuire is positivily anti-christ. The Book of Revelation in the 13 and 14 chapters identify the nature and characteritics of the anti christs which is to shed blood. (might makes right,) someone said history is written by the winners. Well the Roman and Holy Roman empires wrote their own history's like the Nazi's documented their destructions of the Jews as if they were proud of it. I will be a voice in our generation that will correctly identify those who use the "christians" to acheive their objective. Jesus called them goats. And they have no idea that they are not accepted in the Kingdom of God.
We are at war. I am against anyone using Jesus name to shed one drop of blood of another The martyers of Jesus should be an example to us all They are from Jesus to 300 ad. Their record is in Revelation 6:9-11.
I guess I'm saying that no person who ever killed as a christian was received in heaven.

As Far as Karla F. Tucker is concerned my desire is to point out that if you are indeed a christian if you are given power oppurtunity to magnify the glory of God in a persons life that your decision would be easy to grant life. In other words here was a time as ever for a good ole boy to do something that any good ole boy would do for any other good ole boy. We Christians are through Jesus, blood related. We are family Isaiah 25 is the mountain Which Martin Luther King spoke of in his I been to the mountain top speech shortly before he died. Funny how after more than thirty years someone would find it in the bible without any body else's help. Human help that is.

So, any Christian who has shed blood is not recieved in the Kingdom of Heaven? Well, I guess that means no one is going there then. There is quite a bit of bloodshed in the bible...read all the smoting dear. Anyway, we are all guilty of the commandment of do not kill. From the moment we are brought into this world we participate in killing. Everytime you eat anything you have contributed to the killing of some life...be that of plant or animal. You have no idea what you have done in your life that may have affected one another's bloodshed either. Every action and thought you have has consequences that you may not ever be aware of. You could do something that to you may seem benign and innocent that has in some way directly caused another's death. You don't KNOW. You seem to be painting with a VERY broad brush and that is a very dangerous and judgemental thing. And does the bible you quote so much not say...Thou shalt not judge? By making such claims to lump every one of a certain type into a certain consequence...are you not condemning and judging others yourself?

Yes!!!!!!!!!!Yes!!!!!!!!!!!yes!!!!!!!!!!!
You're finally getting it.

I judge all things by Jesus Christ. A thing cannot die except it be condemned. I am condemning every thing that is not Christ. All things are condemned to die. That new life may come.
The phrase "Thou shalt not judge"is bait to me when I hear someone use it.
1Corinthians 2:12-16

Now we received not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. [not mans wisdom but God's]
[but the natural man receiveth not] But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man. [but we have the mind of Christ]

I know what is of God, it is freely given to me. It is the wisdom of Christ [which is greater than the Wisdom of Solomon] which is why I jump up and down rejoicing.

Jesus said he that is least in the Kingdom of God is greater than John the Baptist, whom he also said is as great as any prophet before.

So if Christians have Jesus, who's the atheist mascot?

Is it Darwin?

We need to post more of his quotes.

In the past, I was a strong death-penalty supporter, but I'm willing to re-examine my beliefs, and this story provided a good example why to re-examine them. While I'm thinking about this, I'm coming up with 3 thoughts:

1) Karla had plenty of time to change her ways, but her victims are still dead.
2) Some one would have criticized him if he had commuted her sentence to life in prison.
3) No form of punishment deters the truly evil.

I'm not enamored of the 'interference' in the Schiavo case by GWB and Congress, but I do applaud them for making it clear they would not break the law by forcing the feeding tube back in. Some of the nuttier supporters are actually asking them and Jeb to do this.:tsk: God Bless Terri that she may soon rest in peace, and her parents that they can accept her loss and move on with their lives.:162:

Thank you Saw. *does a little graceful curtsy*

And just for Dr. Khan...so you admit that you sin??? Then I guess you will never reside in the Kingdom of Heaven you want to attain so much. You have so far depicted Pride, Arrogance, and an enormous ego in your posts. Good luck with your salvation.:tsk:

If your "god" is so full of love for his creations then why would he condemn over half the planet for "not knowing any better"??? Religion is mainly a hereditary and geographical thing. One who is raised in a region where another religion is dominant and passed down through their family and never exposed to the teachings of your Christ would therefore "not know any better". As long as they led a good and fruitful kind life why would they ever be denied eternal rest by a "god" who is supposedly just and loving? How can he condemn those who have never "met" him??? And all those who had lived on the Earth prior to Christ...were they all condemned for never knowing him???

Now you are what I would call the reason so many Christians get a bad rap. You are far too judgmental and that is not your place.
