The origin of Idol is useless.Shiv ling represents the reproductive organ of Shiva.LOL.
It is of no use if know the philosophy behind that.It is represents formless God like allah.The pleasure of sex is probably a tiny reflection of Shiva and divine force called Sakthi.

First i congradulate you for being an Athiest because many people are muslim as because their father and fore fathers are muslims, many ara hindus as their ancestors are hindus, u thought about the existence of God and bacame an Athiest. Ok. Can you tell me how the world and the entire universe is created???

I am not going out of topic, I asked about Shiv Ling, But Anti-Religion said Shiv ling is same as Allah, Thats y i am trying to convey that Allah is different and the only one lord who is worthy of worship

To the eyes of a Hindu, Allah is but another aspect of the Supreme Reality.
The Shiva Linga is a representation of Parashiva, which is another name for Brahman, which in English we advaitins (monists) refer to as the Supreme Reality.
To worship the Linga (which, though I am part-Shaivite myself, I do not directly do), is no different than bowing in a certain direction five times a day(something some Hindus do), or making the pilgrimage to Mecca (another thing that many Hindus do; well, not Mecca specifically, but to a special city.)

According to the Shivapurana the lingam is the representation of the formless aspect of Mahadeva, the highest deity (Shiva). There is a whole long chapter on how to make one from different materials, the mantras to be used during the work, the direction in which to face and the time of day and year to do it. It even says that if you do it right you will get worldly pleasures and long life. Gotta love it...

How come you can tell that whatever we worship cannot be a God, Any religion can be examine by analyzing the holy scriptures of the religion, All the people in those religion belive that holy scriptures are from God, so we can start a research.
There are numerous scientific errors in Bible and in other hindu scriptures, but Holy Quran has so many scientific proofs, Imagine how come a man from arabian deser before 1430 years can tell this much of science without any scientific advancement. So there are many proofs available that Quran alone is the word of God.

First you need to understand the concept of God in Hinduism as Islam,
For that you can refer to the dialogue happened between Dr. Zakir Naik and Shri Shri Ravishankar. Topic - "Concept of God in BHinduism and Islam", if you watch this you will come to know about more things, it happened in Banglore, India and lakhs of people attended the conference. If shiv ling is not God then what muslims pray is also NOT god.
see how Muslims pray to carpets,floors,pillars,thin air and thoughts.
Muslims pray to carpets as seen above.
Some muslims worship thin air.Remember Air,thoughts,carpets,floors etc are creation,which again is different from creator.
first you do that.
