Well, you could also flip it around.

Children are much more complex than cars, raising them well is much harder than driving, and failure to properly raise them can similarly result in loss of life, then it seems kinda silly to have requirements to be a driver and not a parent.

Do not children have any rights to capable parents, and a healthy upbringing?

While my memory on this is somewhat faded and dim, I seem to recall many years ago when there was some kid who wanted to divorce his parents.

While I think it's important to respect the very basic human right to procreate, I don't know if enough attention is placed upon the rights of children, who didn't really ask to be born or placed into the kinds of situations their parents put them in.

I'm not really sure what this means in this context.

People feel great about dismissing people that are dumber than them, but then get a little scared realizing their are people smarter than them.

People are all for keeping stupid people from procreating until they realize they are considered one of the stupid people by the people in society who have much more wealth/influence/power/etc. than they do in society.

Ah, got it. I'm definitely guilty of that. I like the idea of dumb people not procreating because I think I'm one of the smart ones. But, I wouldn't advocate for such a policy precisely for the reason that maybe I won't be considered one of the smart ones worthy of procreation.

We wouldn't be a human if we didn't at some time take pleasure in it. But, yes, I think this is generally reason most people think, "Sounds like a great idea in theory, not so much in practice."

Have you ever seen a child being mistreated by their parents? I'm sure you have. These parents shouldn't have been allowed to have kids.

It's my view that the government should have the ability to strip people of their reproductive rights if they have a serious genetic disease, one child with legitimate autism, an IQ below 100 (the minimum IQ should increase as the average continues to improve), or if a woman uses drugs during pregnancy, she should not be allowed to reproduce again, facing serious punishment of she does.
