Personal experience is a fine authority. Inevitably, we are all our own authority when it comes to interpretation. Attempting to ban a faith is futile anyway.

Usually, it's reason and science. But not always. As for what person is an authority for atheism, I'd say the individual him or herself.Who's an authority for atheism?
