This is the same guy who trashed the temple and assaulted people with a whip.“If someone slaps you, turn the other cheek,”
Sex and violence rely both on consent. Sports are a method of reducing violence in war. Instead of fighting for real to the death, just get the tension out of their system.I think they’re not moral under any circumstances.
While I agree, we are probably going to disagree with which is which.I made several points about why its true.
Some things are wrong. And some things are correct. That does not change.
If I remember correctly and one understands biblical euphemisms God only won because he cheated.A Biblical fight:
Wrestling and sumo where there is no punching are fine. They are a sport of strength and strategy. Boxing and martial arts which involve hitting your opponent are uncivilized and could cause permanent damage to players should be discouraged if not totally banned. But I think they are still moral since consenting adults are participating.I think they’re not moral under any circumstances. Boxers and martial artists unfortunately think that with rules and golden glitter, fights are justified and these fights happen for little reason other than money. It is a cruel and unusual thing with or without consent to hypocritically allow violence of any kind in our society. Violence is for the animals. We are people. Not just as sons of God, but by nature we are supposed to be above the animals, not copying them or doing worse things than those unreasonable creatures.
Was it okay when it happened to them?He never explicitly said, “Slavery is ok,” this was for the Israelites with the pagan people as punishment on those wicked people. The Old Covenant.
A rock means jack squat. You can write anything you want on it.There was an island, with a big white rock, named the Rock of Virtue. In my beliefs this is Jesus Christ, and His Word. It had a large set of rules that the people that lived on the island lived by
You think there are justifications for slavery. You assume the authorities are moral. That’s a recipe for disaster.@9-10ths_Penguin And also, if you think my religion is immoral, it’s been terribly misrepresented. And I’m not trying to force you to do my beliefs. Guiding and forcing aren’t the same.
Slavery is violence and you are cool with it.Violence of any kind is inherently wrong. And don’t you dare try to make gray area with imaginary scenarios.
The Bible clearly says that violence is okay most of the time. It doesn’t say to use sports to reduce violence, even though it is the safer option. Its nowhere near to what you're talking about; but generally you can't make any points unless you're talking to people who are genuinely interested staying on the topic.
The Bible is a library and doesn't say one thing about a topic like violence. Each author has their own chance to write their own perspective. The Bible clearly says that violence is okay most of the time. It doesn’t say to use sports to reduce violence, even though it is the safer option.
But did we smell what The Rock was cookin?A rock means jack squat. You can write anything you want on it.

And fighting for sport is not self defense
Just because people like fighting like animals does not justify it ethically.
We are supposed to be reasonable civilized beings. Not indulging in and enjoying senseless violence like animals.
But just because it is with consent does not justify it ethically
Do you feel that way about all physical sports or just fighting?
Look at football and how many players get career ending injuries, concussions, or develop chronic traumatic encephalopathy after several concussions.
"Kabaddi"- a game played in the Indian-subcontinent is much better, rather it is excellent, please, right?:“Little reason other than money…”
“Sons of God….”
