Does Allah tell you to convert?

I would guess that is more of a political rather than a cultural religious gesture. Crusades

I personally doubt that killing is part of Islam if Islam teaches to love others. Though I wouldn't know if the Quran offers exceptions. But I doubt a god would condone it.

Since Sufi doesn't follow literalism of Islam (so said?) that's probably one of those teachings one should disregard.

Some insight:

O you who have faith, do not take My enemies and your enemies as allies, meeting them with affection, while they have disbelieved in the truth that has come to you and expelled you and the Messenger.

Showing love and affection to unbelievers

It also mentions let Allah guide relatives. Say: I do not ask you anything for it, except affection due to relatives. Source: Surat al-Shura 42:23 (same link)

I don't know the context of killing verses but unless Allah is contradicting himself, he's probably just using nonbelievers as a reflection and example for Muslims to do the opposite.

As a sufi the path lead toward inner peace and tollerance for others, other parts of islam such as sunni and shia may see it different than i do.

And of course understanding of the teaching in the scripture has a lot to say about our action speech and thoughts

What are the rules and guidelines you should be following that you're not?

Since the teaching do speak of how to treat others and some cases it say to kill, to me and my understanding, it means only during war. I am not at war with anyone. So you may say my peaceful way of life will continue Even during war since i do not see anyone as my enemy

I know you said "some" however your comments thereafter seem to emphasize a common talking point right-wing Christians say how Islam (and Muslims) are depicted. I've received far more hostility from people who call themselves Christians and who do not follow the teachings of Jesus than any Muslim (I've only experienced racism from some Muslims coming from Arabic speaking countries). Perhaps you want to be specific as to which Muslims you're referring to.



I've had some really positive encounters with Muslims so I'm not sure why you feel this way. Maybe it is a geographical thing but all the Muslims I've encountered were cool especially when we chit chat and I can actually recite some Ayats from the Qur'an in Arabic. Like I said far more Christians have shown me contempt than Muslims which is why I left Baptist Christianity long ago. I think the last seriously negative encounter I had with a Christian was two ladies in Long Beach who didn't like my snake tattoo and they basically told me I'm a "Son of the Devil." However, I agree self-reflection regardless of religion should be something we all do.

99 % of all muslims i have been in contact with are very good and loving people, but there are a few who "hate" the sufi path because a sufi become so peaceful.

Maybe you should go to a new mosque that has not so exstreme beliefs? I think it is best for you to be around muslims with good, lovly, kind beliefs (and that is the real islam, good, lovly, kind beliefs is the best islamic way)

Clearly you interpreted it with extreme bias then. The judgment I'm talking about is that with which he judges that those people who believe and say that their religion is the only correct religion are somehow unloving, intolerant and ignorant. Apparently, he thinks it is extreme to believe in Islam.

Now, if someone doesn't want Islam, that's their choice, but to claim that love is behind all the criticism and berating is obviously hypocritical. Don't even get me started with the idea that Muslims "want to kill non-believers". He is putting Muslims in the same category as terrorists.

You misunderstood me now. I was not talking about sufism. Sufism is not ekstreme. I was talking about that the people in mosque you go to have exstreme beliefs. So maybe you should try go to a new mosque
