Smoking Pot.

Still its best to keep the crap out of our lungs, its just not normal, I use to smoke it and it made me feel like crap for three days after, good at the time though, but not worth it.
Just because it makes you feel bad doesn't mean it makes others feel bad. While I believe smoking is not the best method of ingestion, evidence shows it doesn't cause that much harm to the lungs.

By making drugs illegal you are actually supporting an increase in criminal activity because you have made it so lucrative. Drugs and addiction are a medical problem and should be dealt with as such. Cannabis has been used for thousands of years with fairly minimal impact although the jury is out on the newer generation of high potency plants. Natural cannabis is by far much safer than the forced illegal / legal derivatives that are now found in the hippy shops as alternatives eg Kronic etc.
I also feel it is my right to consume what ever I feel appropriate without busy bodies telling me they know better.

Recently the Australian Federal police admitted their complicity in the execution by firing squad of 2 Australians and 6 others for drug trafficking. They justified giving the Indonesians the tip off, saying that it would save many lives here in Australia from heroin overdoses. A hypothetical position when you consider that from the estimated 7 tonnes of heroin imported resulted in the 700 ODs. See, you say, they were right. Yet from the figures it takes statistically 10kg of heroin to kill a user, and further the reason most of them died was because it was illegal, dose and purity being the real killers. There would only have been an estimated 7 deaths from 7 tonnes if it had been handled as a medical problem with measured dose and purity. So the real killers and murders are the people who legislate for the "War on drugs" a project that has cost billions, killed thousands and has failed since day one.

Cheers

Why are people so concerned with stronger strains of pot? You end up using less with stronger types.
It's not like it's Monsanto's genetically engineered seeds or selectively bred chickens who grow so fast their legs can't support their bodies. Those are breeding practices that are to be concerned about.
But being concerned over a plant that is not addictive, no one has died from it, some people may panic over the high but it's not an overdose and their lives certainly are not in danger is bizarre. Make it stronger, use less.

I've found a way to continue to smoke (cigarettes) while keeping my lungs free from the smoke.

When I take a buff of smoke I hold it in my mouth breathing in from my nose. Then I just blow out the smoke getting the nicotine.

So, today is International Worship a Plant Day.

Personally, I'm against the use and legalisation of Marijuana beyond regulated medical applications.

What are the thoughts of others?

I think everyone should be forced to smoke cannabis on occasion. It leads into new dimensions theretofore unnoticed.

Smoking. This, alongside breathing in (vaping), is the quickest path for marijuana to work. Your circulation system conveys the THC to your cerebrum so rapidly that you may begin to feel high inside seconds or minutes. The measure of THC in your blood normally tops in around 30 minutes, at that point decreases in 1-4 hours.

A significant portion of the risk involved in taking drugs comes from their illegality: variable strength, adulteration, the places one might go to get ones fix.. and that's before you even get started on the societal dangers that come from illegality.

And for what? Who are we actually managing to protect with the current state of affairs?
How about the ******** who use drugs then drive and put others at risk?

People who use drugs typically drink a lot alcohol as well. People don't put that into consideration when making the arguments.

Plus second hand smoke is a lot worse in terms of how it would affect people. I have no desire to get an involuntary buzz off somebody elses marijuana smoke.

Interestingly, there was an article this week that said alcohol sales were down because more people were smoking weed.

Actually lived through the 60's and never tried it. It is legal in our state to grow your own, up to 6 plants. I grew them for a friend who lived out of state where is was not legal. I kept some for myself but have yet to try it.

It's pretty nice that it's now legal for me to smoke a few hits from my pinchy and get relief from [symptoms x,y,z], and have no risk of going to jail for it.

You really can't. There is so little THC remaining in exhaled smoke that it's just not going to happen. The "contact high" is a myth.

There is ample evidence to show pot is helping people who are addicted to alcohol and opiates.

I think a lot of that it's just plain malarkey. You can get a buzz off second hand smoke from marijuana. And smoke helps people get off alcohol? That's just plain ridiculous.

Like smoker issues between non-smokers. people just don't want smoke blown in their face so I'm taking marijuana smokers will have to abide by the same rules as smokers have to at present.

No, you can't.
The myth of the contact high
Your brain won’t change just by being around cannabis. And you won’t fail your next drug test, either....
A warning: few studies confirmed that a contact high was possible. However, most of these studies were performed under “extreme conditions,” which rarely occur in real life, like super-tiny spaces filled with crazy quantities of weed. So, yes, you can get a contact high if you share a telephone booth with Wiz Khalifa or if you perform mouth-to-mouth resuscitation on the Dabbing Granny.
But in concert venues or house parties, it’s unlikely.
Most contact highs are psychological. You’re around people acting blazed; you act wasted, too.
In the end, you can’t get high off secondhand pot smoke much more than you can get syphilis from secondhand sex or get smart from secondhand reading.
Secondhand Marijuana Smoke?
Can you get high from inhaling secondhand marijuana smoke?
Probably not.
You may have heard the phrase “contact high,” about someone breathing secondhand marijuana smoke and feeling a buzz. Studies have found that in extreme conditions, with lots of smoke blown directly into your face, you can feel the high and it can even show up in a urine test. But this is not a normal circumstance.
Research shows that very little THC is exhaled back into the air when a smoker exhales. So little, in fact, that if you sat in a room while people exhaled the smoke of four marijuana cigarettes (sometimes called joints) in one hour, you wouldn’t get high. You would have to be trapped in a room breathing the smoke of 16 burning joints before you started to show signs of being high.

Moreover, there is both subjective and objective evidence to suggest that secondhand exposure to cannabis smoke in such conditions can produce what most refer to as a “contact buzz.” However, the conditions under which this occurred in the studies were only positive for extremely poor ventilated areas.
Blowing smoke in someone's face is just being an *******. However, you won't get high from it.
