Let's trick Zuckerburg into coming here. The censorship on there is just beyond what you could think of. Freedom of speech does not exist on there.
For the past few years since 2014 many of my accounts have been taken down for not using my real name and people reporting my accounts. Yes, I have lost about 20 something accounts that site. Facebook forces many to use to real name if they want to get their account back by asking for the "Government ID". And if you do not believe me here is a link. https://www.facebook.com/help/159096464162185
I have have noticed when the people who work for fb who sends the emails that they only show their first name which is well quite odd. If fb wants us to use our real names why aren't they showing their real names? I also have been wondering that first name they show in the email is not their real name at all.
I really do hope for fb to shut down. Mark Zuckerburg deserves to have that site shut down and lose a lot money.
Lol.Actually, I'm going to go shorten that list right now.
LolLet's trick Zuckerburg into coming here.
Then we'll give him an atomic wedgie & a purple nurple.
I only used it to keep up with friends. I even posted real pictures of me and my account still got taken down.I like facebook mainly to keep up with other sites I like. Games, movies, science, bands, all there in one easy place. Plus it's good for setting up events. I have maybe 20 friends on there, so actual people I care about. Actually, I'm going to go shorten that list right now.

Honestly, this sounds like someone who epileptically clicks past the rules, regulations, agreements, policies, etc....The censorship on there is just beyond what you could think of. Freedom of speech does not exist on there.

That link that I copied and pasted is from their actual site. Not many people know about what fb really does.Honestly, this sounds like someone who epileptically clicks past the rules, regulations, agreements, policies, etc....
I do. See, when faffing about in various IT courses you learn quickly that FB has very little security measures comparatively. In saying that though, the requirement for real names is often to weed out really nasty fake accounts that do exist solely to antagonize people. Or commonly, people using other peoples' names to post slanderous and sometimes illegal things so they get into trouble. Those are real things. Or are robot accounts. That's why you sometimes get a "type this sequence thing out" requirement on some sites. So confirmation of identity is actually a good safety measure, especially for the internet of all places. You can get fired for stuff you post online in some fields! Even get criminal charges levied against you if it's serious enough. Heaven forbid a site at least tries to combat identity theft online! That link that I copied and pasted is from their actual site. Not many people know about what fb really does.
Fb kept tracking my accounts down a lot these past 2 months even though I am a real person and I posted pictures of me on there. Fb is such a headache. I was only on fb to make friends and keep in contact with my others. I was mostly on it to talk. I don't play any of those lame games on there.I do. And please, everything you ever do on a computer, internet or not, is recorded. That's just how a computer works. It's how it's always worked. (Excluding the abacus, I suppose.)Hell, that's how internet providers work. If you want complete and total anonymity I suggest either not using a computer, learning how to be a master hacker or investing in a magnet to wipe your hard drive out utterly. Course you might have to replace your entire machine but still.
Facebook is largely inane. Although much.....nicer than the cesspool that is Twitter or YouTube. It's relatively harmless. Also fun fact, Google tracks everything you search to advertise to you more specifically.
You could always turn off cookies or whatnot if it really bothers you that much. Or just use Google incognito. (Which is still recorded by your internet provider but does "erase" the history automatically when using it.) Honestly, this is all basics.
If you actually knew what their policies are, you may not think that. The "terms of usage" for pretty much everything electronic and digital, even your devices and the websites you visit, should be considered a very major humans rights issue. In terms of Facebook, it's that they "digitally rape" your browser with tracking bugs. Google pretty much keeps track of everything you look up on it, and even attaches an identifier to it before sending it off to marketing research. And then there is the issue of ownership, and increasingly and frighteningly, we are coming to own fewer of our things. Chances are pretty good you don't even actually own your phone, and you probably also use software that you paid for but unknowingly didn't actually purchase it but only purchased a privilege of use on it, or leased it, or some other wording that means you don't own it. Often times you even violate the agreement if you don't upgrade device software as soon as you can, and by all legal rights the company that owns the device can take legal action. Even if you install an unauthorized update or firmware, they can and have taken legal action because the company owns the device, equipment, and the software, and it isn't yours to tamper with.Holy Culture of Entitlement Batman!
So a private company doesn't give you exactly what you want for free. Suck it up. Facebook policy is not a human rights issue.
Tom
Well then don't. But you see the thing is to avoid being detected as just another setup, you'd have to use another computer and another internet connection entirely. FB will automatically detect your computer through use of the serial number on the motherboard and possibly even your internet network (though it would probably allow at least 3 or 4 different accounts on said network.)Fb kept tracking my accounts down a lot these past 2 months even though I am a real person and I posted pictures of me on there. Fb is such a headache. I was only on fb to make friends and keep in contact with my others. I was mostly on it to talk. I don't play any of those lame games on there.
Also the other reason why I didn't want my real name on there is because of stalkers and yes my step parents internet stalke me. Putting my real name out there gives them easy access to finding me easier. I have other stalkers too. The other thing is that some people out there who wish to kill me. I have gotten death threats before. Putting my real name out there gives them info of who I am.

Yep. You are correct. They track everything you do. Have heard about fb messnger turning the mic on itself. Idk if that is true.If you actually knew what their policies are, you may not think that. I use fake names on every social site but honestly I feel safer using fake names tjan using my actual real name. I truly due hate the real name policy on there. If they didn't it I would be on it.Well then don't. See, a lot of FB is automated just like all social media platforms. They use algorithms and service bots to do away with anything outside (or sometimes inside) the perimeters of what's deemed acceptable by the site. Fake names,if detected, and most of the reported stuff (even if falsely reported) will be shown no mercy. You don't honestly think people run it like actual monitoring watch dogs, do you? It's far too big for that to be even remotely practical.
I mean you can try putting in feedback to the site help function or whatever and arguing your case. I mean you never know.
Try being on fb one day. Your account gets taken down and then you are being ask your personal info. This is like saying I don't eat at McDonald's anymore because I don't like their uniforms.
There is the very real issue of it putting people's lives in danger. We only really have to worry about embarrassment, but in some places to promote secular, progressive, or liberal ideas, or to challenge the authority of religion, is a potential death sentence. To act out of line and post it may be a future beating or imprisonment.I use fake names on every social site but honestly I feel safer using fake names tjan using my actual real name. I don't trust fb at all. My husband left fb sometime last year.
