Why does anyone older than an infant need anyone to hold their hand and guide them? I can certainly have more freedom to have fun without an imaginary god telling me what i should and shouldn't do.

To ascend, you need guidance. Without guidance, you can't ascend, even if you become total light without darkness, the world in ascension has etiquette, and in all stages even once out of darkness and dissolving into God, you need the guides to show you etiquette on how to act in that world. You need the firm word of God at all stages, in this world, and even in the next God establishes believers by his firm word, which is his Guides and light
There is no firmer path then following examples of others and taking light from light..

Certainty in God's signs can be asked from God you know? Just ask him, if you are real and have done miracles in the past at the hands of guides from you, can you please show me miracles at the hand of a guide from you.
I don't know any creature, that has asked God sincerely, and God does not respond to their call. This is just my view, you can take it or leave it.

ChristineM, just sincerely pledge to God that you will not accuse his guide on earth of being a sorcerer nor possessed by demons and the miracles being done by demons, if he shows you clear signs and miracles, and ask God to show you signs in form of clear miracles. See what happens.
Miracles? Try giving birth, completely natural yet to produce life is as big a miracle as anyone can wish for. And no god involved
I don't know of anyone who has ever received a response for anything by asking their god.
