I found the bug.
The double spoiler occurs when there is a hyperlink in the selection... at least at the beginning.
The spoiler then spits in two.

Let me see, if it works this time. Here is a link to a random post

a link to a random post. The one above did not work.

Maybe it has to be an off site link
. Let me see what happens here.
Ah. There it is. For a moment there, I thought RF had fixed it.
Can you try it with the other kind of spoiler?

...but I don't like the other spoiler.

When the new version of the software was installed, I caused some upset by being very cynical and very grumpy about what I expected to happen. Now that we're ~1.5 months into the new version, I've seen nothing since the list of things we all voted on was presented - no updates about fixes especially email that is of business interest as well as user interest, no minor updates, nothing.

I've got a salt and pepper shaker ready to eat my words if I missed anything since a few minor initial tweaks. Is there something I've missed?

In the last couple of days, we (the active staff) have asked the owners about the current status of the updates and fixes as well as reiterated the urgency of both.

I'm a bit exhausted from dealing with certain unrefined aspects of the new software, myself, but the most the volunteer staff can do is talk to the owners about these issues because we have no access to the forum's backend.

Thanks @Debater Slayer for the update. I know there's nothing you can do beyond asking so we're "sailing in the same boat". It's got to be harder for you than for me (and other regular users). At this point I can only hope for some positive message from them even if updates won't be immediate.

Maybe what is going on with RF is part of us living in Yeats' "Second Coming" world today (this is RF after all):

I have noticed that one cannot add an additional “quotation-for-reply” when editing a post. Is that something changeable?

Also, can a “thank you” response icon be added to those present (for instance, next to the “like” icon…I have seen it as a pair of hands palms-together), and maybe a “disagree” icon. (thumbs-down)? Sometimes, you just want to express disagreement without making a “federal case” of it. ;)

Do you mean like this?

Highlight the text you want to quote. A small popup appears with [quote/reply]
Press quote
Repeat for any other quotes.

In the text entry box a new button [inset quotes] appears. Hit that and select the quotes.

Additional quote...

Something like that. If, however, you have made and submitted a post, and then decide that you should speak/reply to another point made by the same member to whom you have replied, and want to do so within the same post (as opposed to making a second post to accomplish that), then you seem not to be able to “edit in” a new “Member X said:” box so that the point to which you are replying is clarified. Do you see what I mean? That would be a helpful functionality to have at one’s disposal.
