SOTU, so what?

Number of Texas counties declaring an invasion: 55

I await your dismissal.
It is too easy. Hype is not evidence. What happened? Did they rape the sheep and carry off the women? . . . Wait, something is wrong there.

They were not even trying to change the government. Worse yet, those are not the sort of border that Trump could have closed. At least in the article that sound like people crossing over illegally wherever they could. His wall is worthless when it comes to smugglers. Kids do this for fun:

It was on fire when I laid down on it.
LOL! And do you not think that there are far more people killed by citizens? You are not reasoning rationally. You are not using consistent standards.

The question you should be asking is "Do immigrants perform violent crimes at a higher rate, at the same rate, or a t a lower rate than US citizens?" If it was either of the last two you have no point.
We need to know who is in our country and why. Period. Other countries know, we need to know too.

Seemed quite pathetic and cultish to me.
Didn't this happen .... ?

Or did they just do that to be unnecessarily mean to a stroke victim?
I don't even think the (Gaza genocide supporting) stroke victim should even be in politics, myself, let alone his slobby attire. We all know MTG doesn't normally dress like that and was doing it to make a statement, a protest. Honestly the whole SOTU was an embarrassment from the beginning. It looked like a raucous boxing match or a concert, and ended up just being a messy, rambling campaign speech.

The only thing he sounded "with" was whatever drug his handlers had him take, which started wearing off toward the end when he went off-prompter and started trying to think again, and that's when he really started showing himself to be a wannbe dictator.
Well, that's the Fox News talking point, anyway.

Sorry, what's "wannabe dictator" about Joe Biden? Sounds more like Trump, to me. You know, the guy who tried to stay in power after he lost fair and square.

This is a hilarious read.

It’s no accident that Alabama Sen. Katie Britt issued the Republican Party’s response to the State of the Union address from her kitchen table, since the kitchen is precisely where the GOP would prefer we women spend most of our lives. Ideally, Britt would have been canning beans or kneading bread with a baby on her hip at the same time, but the related racket would likely have made her strained stage-whispers about murderous immigrants difficult to hear.

This unhinged author slams the republican response because it is from a kitchen where we republicans all "want women to stay", all the while the speech was coming from a republican woman in power in US congress. These people are a joke.
Her speech was creepy af. Even many Republicans agree with that.

Thanks. I didn't really expect my point to be addressed. And it wasn't. Just deflected to something else.

It looked a lot like very single other SOTU I've watched, save for the lunatic dressed in Trump garb.

My observations about the SOTU speech was that Biden appeared to be a bit psychotic in his frantic attempt to appear to be virile and lucid. And to be honest, for me, it didn't work. His age was clearly showing through the attempted smoke screen.

My second observation was the reason why I usually don't watch those speeches and prefer to skim them after the noise settles down. And tat is that they are so absurdly dishonest in pretty much every way. From the constant popping up and down for phony 'ovations' to the incredible annoying over-stated litany of weak and pathetic "accomplishments".

I was not impressed. But then that was never going to be a likely outcome. The fact that Biden didn't forget to wear his pants was an accomplishment via today's political standards. That he was able to stand there and read a teleprompter for 40 minutes strait with millions of people watching is an accomplishment that would very likely be beyond my capabilities. Especially when you know damn well that even the slightest gaff will become the ONLY news item from the speech in tomorrow's news cycle.

So in the end it was exactly as I expected. And I expected very little.

Funny, as I had somewhat of the opposite observation. I didn't expect much, particularly because of Biden's foot-in-mouth record, and yet he came off quite well overall, imo, including the tit-for-tat with his hecklers. On top of that, his "weak and pathetic accomplishments" are pretty strong for reasons he well-articulated.

Let me put it this way: he sure as hell did massively better than the senator who did the Republican response.

Ok, but that is not what I was talking about.
