Altruism: Come Closer to God By Helping Those in Need

Serving God by helping those in need is an important path to God's love.

Sacrificing part of your time and wealth for the sake of helping others is a type of altruism which God loves to see from believers, as it is a reflection of their compassion and mercy.

And if you are loved by God, He will surely increase you in faith and inner peace.

If you are really searching for peace, do your best to be altruistic and compassionate.

Turn to Allah

As I was walking to the mosque a few days ago, I saw an elderly man fall in the street as he was coming to pray.

People rushed to help him stand up again, and despite his illness and old age, he was able to make it to pray with the congregation.

This scene reminded me that human beings are very weak. We forget that strength and good health do not last for ever.

Strength and good health are from Allah.

We are the weak ones and He is the All-Mighty.

If you are really searching for peace, always turn to Him, in ease and in hardship, in strength and in weakness.

And He hears our prayers and He responds.

Seek Knowledge and Find a Good Teacher

If you are seeking peace, you need to find the right path to peace, and for that you need sound knowledge.

In Islam, it is not enough to seek knowledge from books. Self-learning is important, but having a good teacher is indispensable, because not only does he teach you religious knowledge, but also he warns you of the dangers you will find on the Path to God.

These dangers include the tricks of Satan, how to deal with your own ego and purify your heart, and how to survive the dangerous ocean of this worldly life.

So try to find a good moderate wise teacher, who understands the beauty of God's Guidance and who can put you on the right track, and ask God to increase you in knowledge if you are really searching for peace.

At night, when all is calm, look up to the sky and enjoy the beautiful panorama.

Stars and planets of different sizes and brightness fill the sky.

Galaxies billions of light years away are all over the place

Who created all that?

Praise be to Allah

And what are in in comparison?

A drop of water in a vast ocean.

So be humble, and praise your Creator if you are searching for peace

Don't Worry About The Future: Each Problem Has a Solution

Sometimes we get very concerned about what will happen tomorrow, especially in times of uncertainties

When the world is upside down - as it is today - it is a normal thing for people to be concerned and for anxiety to increase. This takes away part of our inner peace.

So what is the solution to this problem?

The answer is belief in one of the six articles of faith - belief in measured destiny (Qadar) - and trusting God (tawakkul).

The beauty of a strong belief in measured destiny is that it gives believers the peace of mind knowing that the future is known to God, and though he or she should do their best to solve problems and improve conditions, at the end we should accept the final outcome which God has decreed.

Trusting God is all about submitting to His will, and believing that He wants what is best for us, whether we understand the wisdom of some of the events in our lives or not.

He knows what is best for us, and we trust His wisdom.

After each hardship there is ease, so patience and asking His help is the way out from hardship into ease.

If you are really searching for inner peace, trust your Creator and don't worry.

Tomorrow will be a better day In-Shaa-Allah.

Spend Quality Time With God

We often spend our days running from one place to another, busy with work, studies or business, ... etc.

When it's time to pray, a believer should take time out to reconnect with God.

Do your best to spend quality time with God when you pray, read Qur'an or remember Him. He is the Most Merciful, and He loves that when we pray or think of Him that we be focused and concentrated, not absent-minded.

When we connect with Him, we increase in faith and peace.

And when it's late at night when others are asleep, try to spend quality time with God in the calmness of the night, ask Him what you need and praise Him, The All-Mighty, and remember Him so that He remembers you.

If you are really searching for inner peace, spend quality time with your Creator on a regular basis, as He likes regular good deeds.

Be Patient: It's Half the Faith

One of the signs of faith is having patience when facing a challenge or going through a difficult time.

Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, informed us that patience is half of faith, and that the other half is to thank God (Shukr)

And this makes sense, because a believer is either in a state of ease - and in that case he or she should thank God and use His bounties in thanking Him and helping others, or in a state of hardship - and in that case he should be patient and ask God to relieve the hardship.

This is the path of faith, so be patient when faced with hardship if you are really searching for peace.

Forget the Material World for a While: Give More Attention to Your Heart

Most of us spend the majority of our time caring for the material side of life.

Between work, studies, sleep, friends, family, ... etc, we spend most of our day busy with many things to do, and as a consequence what remains is only a few minutes for communicating with our Creator.

Even when we pray or read the Qur'an, most of the time our
minds are occupied with worldly matters, and problems we need to solve.

Where is the time we need to nurture your spiritual heart with the love of God?

The human being is body and soul, so give your soul the time and attention it needs if you are looking for a balanced life which is filled with peace.

If you are really searching for inner peace, take care of your spiritual heart

Don't Commit Injustice: This is The Worst Thing You Can Do

God loves to see his creatures deal with each other on the basis of fairness and justice.

God dislikes injustice, and has warned us in the Qur'an on many occasions of being unjust.

Taking away other people's rights is the worst thing a person can do, and for a believer who is searching for God's approval, doing that would make him/her very distant from God, till they repent and return people's rights.

If you are really searching for inner peace, be just.

That is the way that leads to The Straight Path, so don't be unjust.

Remember There is Always Hope: Ask God for Help

When Prophet Abraham, peace be upon him, was about to be thrown by his people in a big fire he did not lose hope, though the situation looked very bleak.

He maintained hope in God, and prayed that God save him

So what happened?

A miracle from God made the fire not harm Prophet Abraham.

Now there are no more miracles, but we still have the power of praying to God to relieve us of our hardships, and He responds, so there is always hope.

If you are really searching for peace, pray to God and always maintain hope.

Nurture Your Soul With Contemplation & Remembrance

Contemplate this beautiful universe, and remember its Mighty Creator

All beauty you see in nature, God created it

All the lovely scenes you see in the mountains and in the oceans, He created them

The only thing a believer can say when surrounded with such beauty is Subhan Allah

When we contemplate nature and remember Allah a sense of peace enters our hearts, peace and serenity

If you are really searching for inner peace, contemplate the beauty of nature and remember God

After a Long Night The Light of Dawn Will Follow

When Prophet Joseph, peace be upon him, was thrown by his brothers in a dark well, he was about to perish from thirst and hunger.

In the darkness of the well, and the darkness of the night, he asked God for help, and God saved him. Rescue came as a passing caravan stopped at the well, and young Joseph came out with the bucket.

Prophet Jonah (Yunus) was a similar case. Thrown from a ship into the dark sea, he was swallowed by a huge whale, and remained in its darkness till he reached out to God for help, and was thrown onto the shore.

When the night looks very dark, and the injustices and hardships are very severe, remember these two examples, and that the light of dawn is very near.

There is always hope, so trust your Lord, and ask Him for help, if you are really searching for peace.

Remember That God is the Source of All Peace

Searching for inner peace?

Then ask God for peace, as He is the source of all peace

He invites us to the Home of Peace (in the Hereafter), as mentioned in the Qur'an:

(And Allah invites to the Home of Peace and guides whom He wills to a straight path) (10:25)

Those who will be admitted to Paradise are those who had a sound heart in this world, a heart which is free from ailments and evil feelings and intentions.

And to have such a sound heart, believers need to follow God's Guidance to find peace in this world and in the Hereafter.

If you are really searching for peace, ask God to guide you to His Straight Path.

May Allah (SWT) admit us all to the Home of Peace

Ameen

Be Patient if You Love God: He Loves the Patient

Patience is a virtue, a very important virtue in fact

Why?

Because patience represents one half of the faith, the other half being thankfulness in times of ease.

A believer is patient because he believes in measured destiny, and that God has decreed events to happen in his life for a wisdom we may not always understand.

But after hardships there is always ease, and this life is only a transition.

So be patient if you are searching for peace and for God's Love

Accept God's Decree and Be Content: It is One of the Articles of Faith

Sometimes a believer can have difficulty in understanding some of the events that happen to him in life.

He prayed, he asked God for support, but what he wanted did not happen

Why?

Well it is God who decides, not us.

It is He who knows what is best for us on the long run, not us.

It is He who created this universe, not us.

Do your best, ask for God's help, then at the end of the day be content with His decree, if you are really searching for peace.

Never Give Up Hope: Hope is Life

There is no life without hope, and Islam is all about hope:

- Hope in God's Mercy and Forgiveness

- Hope that He will respond to our du'aa

- Hope that He will improve our conditions

- Hope in a better future

- Hope that He will accept us in Heaven

If you are searching for peace always keep hope.

Today will be better than yesterday and tomorrow will be a better day In-Shaa-Allah

[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Find Peace in Ramadan's Special Nights

With around 1 or 2 days left for the start of the last ten mights of Ramadan, seek the night of peace, which is better than 1,000 months

Which night is it?

Nobody knows for sure, so the safest way not to miss it is to pray each night a special prayer that brings us closer to Him.

A special night when the gates of heaven are wide open, and when angels descend and fill the earth.

A night when God gives a special chance to come near Him, to taste the sweetness of His mercy and the blessings of Ramadan

If you are really searching for peace, don't miss the night of peace

[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Ramadan: The Month of Inner Peace

In Ramadan, one can feel its blessings and feel more peace.

Prayers are easier to perform, doing good deeds are also much easier and so is reading the Qur'an.

This is indeed the best month of the year, and God makes it easy for us to worship Him.

If you are really searching for peace, make the best use of each minute of Ramadan: it is an excellent month to get closer to God.
