I wanna see how many people on the forum are Star Wars fans, and to what degree.

I'm more a fan of the original trilogy, but if it's got a lightsaber and Jedis in it, I'm happy!

I'm gonna say I like 'em all. I started out liking Han, but Obi Wan quickly grew on me. My feeling at the time was 'you gotta like old guys that kick fanny.' I was even more happy to learn that Ewan MacGregor would play him in the prequels. (By that time, I had discovered hormones.) I think that the saddest, most powerful bonds in all of the films are between he and Anakin and Obi Wan and Qui Gon.

Other girls might like the Sith, but I'll always be a Jedi fan!

I'm a self-confessed Star Wars freak...and I'm also the reason my little brother is a Star Wars freak. I prefer the original trilogy, but I do like the prequels too. I remember seeing Return of the Jedi at the movies, and I prefer the original ending to this one, as opposed to the 'special edition' - I miss that tune the Ewoks played and danced to! I saw all of the original trilogy Special Editions at the movies, and the prequels too (the first one twice). Hanging out for the next one.
I used the original trilogy as a babysitting tool in my final two years of high school (I babysat my little brother and sister a lot). I was also experiencing the beginning of 7+ years of depression around this time, and those movies kept me sane - gave me an escape. They still do that to a certain degree, and are often the first movies I reach for when I'm having a 'down' day. I have watched them countless times, and know them word-for-word (as does little bro). I have almost all of my original Star Wars figurines (some have disappeared over the years, and a friend of mine stole a couple - he just *had* to have the complete set - ****head). I also have a ridiculous amount of Star Wars Lego (the Technic stuff is really cool! :p), and I bought 40-odd issues of the Star Wars magazine. I gave them to my little brother for Christmas a couple of years ago, because they were cluttering up my place, and I knew he'd have endless hours of joy boring other people to tears with all the useless information that only a true Star Wars geek can appreciate. :p Yes, I'm evil.

Things I hated about the prequels:
Jar Jar Binks in the first one
Anakin being such a sulky little s*** in the second one

Things I loved about the prequels:
Seeing the machinations of Senator Palpatine, and his rise to Emperor
Yoda fighting!!! :woohoo:

Oh, and I loved playing "spot the Aussie" in these too. :p

I remember me and my friends (they were guys), playing 'Star Wars' as a kid. I always got stuck playing Leia, cause I was a girl...but I turned her into a Jedi too, so I could kick some butt. :p We broke a lot of sticks lol.

I was 12 when I saw star wars in 1977.It has had a huge impact on my life. The 80s were salad days ,much of my time spent collecting hundreds of peices of star wars memorabilia.Today I have thousands.I am a star wars geek.Return of the Jedi took some getting used to for me but I learned to like it.When episode 1 came out I was dissapointed, but tried my best to be positive(it's been hard).Episode 2 (ugh!) just plain broke my heart. The acting is terrible, the story just plain bites, and my love of Darth Vader has been compromised.Lucas has even screwed up the release of the original trilogy on dvd.The most glaring example of this being Greedo firing at Han first in the cantina.Han wasn't always such a nice guy,he's a smuggler,a rouge,a guy who does what has to be done(see ,I am a wicked geek)!Lucas doesn't care about star wars anymore,it's just a cash cow to him now. What he has done to star wars is sacreligious in my book.I'm an atheist but I hope there is a film makers hell so Lucas can go there!!

But, in spite of all that ,I am a rabid star wras fan and love to talk about it.:jam:
I can recite the dialouge to the first movie start to finnish with all vocal tones accurate This really bugs my wife when we watch it.:D

"This will be a day long remembered. It has seen the end of Kenobi,it will soon see the end of the rebelion."

Alright, I chose they are all good cuz, well, they are. But the originals were definitely better. Sure the computer graphics are better in the prequels, but the storylines, acting, and well, acting was better in the originals. Yoda does kick some considerable arse in Ep.II. I was very unimpressed with Hayden Christensen and his "wae wae wae, I'm a great jedi, wae wae wae." But I am looking forward to see the Vader we all know and love. Especially because it will just be Hayden underneath, and James Earl Jones' voice. VADER!!!!!! And hopefully we'll see little Luke and Leia. Maybe. I think the original script was called "The Story of Mace Windu", so I hope we see more of Samuel L. Jackson's stuff in the 3rd one.

I would love to see them find the Source of the Dark side of the force. Wasn't it a crystal? Wow, its been a long time since I read that.

I cast my vote for the originals...they're just that much better. I can't wait for Lord Vader, though. He can redeem the whole prequel business simply by...being Vader :).

If you don't...Vader will cut them off, because you didn't hope for his best interests :p.

If any villain's intro just screamed "Bad boy!," it would have to be Vader's in ANH, so you hare reason to fear.

I think the 3rd will be better than the first 2 prequels. It will be much darker which will be fun. And yoda will kick arse, as well as the coming of vader. I hope my expectations are too high, or I will hide my head in my robe when I go see it. Yes, I wear my robe. Yes I'm naked underneath, WAIT NO, ah well. Its too late now.

I'll be there. We can be sure that if he doesn't give Vader his cudos, there will be hits out on him :p.

I'm going to see the latest installment of the star wars fancise... I have to admit that I am worried though. Each of the previous prequils I found very dissapointing. And not just because of Jar Jar.

I can't see Lucas not giving Vader the attention that fans want and that he deserves. Lucas is no idiot when it comes to this. He knows the fans all have a special place in their hearts for Vader. (Wow, was that weird to say. People have a special place in their hearts for the bad guy? Huh.)

I would have to say that I'm a bigger fan of the original trilogy, but they're all Star Wars. The thing is, with the prequels, I think Lucas tried too hard. He concentrated on the effects instead of the story, and it shows.

That's interesting that the script originally referred to Mace Windu. I hear he's got some huge battle scene, too. I'd rather see him fight than Yoda. It was cool to see Yoda fight, but Windu's calm in the heat of everything near the end of Ep. II was just too cool. :jam:

It will also be nice to see Anakin change from whiny apprentice to angry Vader.

Yeah. The master/apprentice relationship is really awesome. Too bad it didn't work like that in reality...

I'm a big fan of Star Wars, and when the people I know are completely lost in the story line, i'm always there to tell them what's going on (whether they want to hear me or not). I didn't think Episodes I or II were too bad to be honest, and I'm lost on the whole hate Jar Jar Binks thing.
