Peace be on all....Respecting your right of thinking, may I say:
1= I believe, it was not a matter of doubt, it was a matter of humbleness, just as when Hazrat Moses (a.s.) was granted Prophethood, he tried to shy away:
[28:30] And when Moses had fulfilled the term, and journeyed with his family, he perceived a fire in the direction of the Mount. He said to his family, ‘Wait, I perceive a fire; haply I may bring you some
useful information therefrom, or a burning brand from the fire that you may warm yourselves.’
[28:31] And when he came to it, he was called
by a voice from the right side of the Valley, in the blessed spot, out of the tree: ‘O Moses, verily I am, I am Allah, the Lord of the worlds.’

[28:32] And
it also said: ‘Throw down thy rod.’ And when he saw it move as though it were a serpent, he turned back retreating and did not wait. ‘ O Moses, come forward and fear not; surely thou art of those who are safe.
[28:33] ‘Insert thy hand into thy bosom; it will come forth white without evil
effect, and draw back thy arm toward thyself
to be free from fear. So these
shall be two proofs from thy Lord to Pharaoh and his chiefs. Surely they are a rebellious people.’
[28:34] He said, ‘My Lord, I killed a person from among them, and I fear that they will kill me.
[28:35] ‘And my brother Aaron — he is more eloquent in speech than I; send him therefore with me as a helper that he may bear witness to my truth. I fear that they will accuse me of falsehood.’
===> It was the humbleness, that first he feared and retreated, then he said about a person, then he said Aaron should be sent with him.......And when the time came, we see the great Hazrat Moses (a.s.) stood alone with great courage.
Thus I am sure Holy Prophet (s.a.w.)'s worry was not due to doubt, it was due to humbless which all Prophets have inherently.
2= Prior to this reported incidence in Cave Hira, Holy Prophet (s.a.w.) was having spiritual experiences since long time, even since childhood........But this time Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be on him) was said:
'iqra'
i.e. read and convey
He felt awe about this huge responsibility, and like Hazrat Moses (on whom be peace), he kept showing his meekness.
It was not so that Hazrat Khadijah and Hazrat Warqa (may Allah be pleased with them, as they believed the truth) did have any stronger faith than Holy Prophet (s.a.w.).
3= Suppose if we minus these two noble supporters from the scene, then what?
Prophets are human, Allah provides instruments to strengthen their hearts e.g.:
[ch11,v121] And all of the tidings of the Messengers,
whereby We make thy heart firm, We relate unto thee. And herein has come to thee the truth and an exhortation and a reminder for believers.
[25:33] And those who disbelieve say, ‘Why was not the Qur’an revealed to him all at once?’
We have revealed it thus that
We may strengthen thy heart therewith. And We have arranged it in the best form.
4=This strength of heart is needed by other faithful too.
[28:11] And the heart of the mother of Moses became free
from anxiety. She had almost disclosed
his identity, were it not that
We had strengthened her heart so that she might be of the
firm believers.
[18:15]
And We strengthened their hearts, when they stood up and said, ‘Our Lord is the Lord of the heavens and the earth. Never shall we call upon any god beside Him;
if we did, we should indeed have uttered an enormity.
Thus, in short, the divinely initiated procedures / experiences create perturbation in hearts, but again Allah the Exalted gives strength to the Prophet and others.
