Surprising lack of knowledge among theists.

What I said was, is my statement, "I have a big nose," bigoted? It happens to be factual, if that helps you decide.
Lacking any context, of course it's not. Then I explained in what context it might be bigotry.

So I gather that you cannot convey why you find this statement bigoted then?
I even used small words and you STILL could not comprehend a simple concept. Why should I bother trying to explain something about which your mind is OBVIOUSLY closed? I would have a better chance convincing Shrub to get out of Iraq.

I think the context that Dawkins is using when he says "understand the world" is the natural progression of science. Many religions historically have actively or passivlely thwarted the progression of science, and do so to this day.

Really, how many, do mean Christianity because we can see that one historically. But please show me where any Per-Christian religion, ether from Europe or any were else, Asian maybe that have done this.......

Once again, disagreement does not mean lack of comprehension. It may be that someone disagrees with you because they know more than you, and your assumption that anyone who disagrees with you lacks comprehension displays appalling arrogance.

So it's all about me then? If you can't convince me then no point in posting? But you expect the rest of our readers to accept on faith, simply because Pete says so, that this statement is bigoted, despite your utter inability to point to what you find bigoted about it?

I doubt that either of us has the luxury to wait until you show yourself capable of discerning "intelligent proof".

Standard response. And typical.

First post by Jay, a single quote from a newspaper that at best, to many, shows a ridiculous and poorly stated analogy by Richard Dawkins. Of course, simple research shows that Dawkins made a similar point in an earlier statement which can be traced directly to him in which he refers to the political machine in America catering to religious Jews but not to non-religious/secularists even though they comprise a higher percentage of the population.

Second, the quote wasn't even sourced when it was brought.

Third, when challenged the best that was offered in response was somebody else's commentary followed by a slanderous one-liner.

Fourth, the only other item you offered up was a rather obvious belief by Dawkins. Gee, who didn't know the man held a general disrespect for religion. What a shock.

Fifth, despite the tremendous respect I hold for your knowledge of Biblical studies and humanism I find you have failed miserably on this.

The only thing you offer is an appeal to your authority. That's ******** and beneath you.

g? But you expect the rest of our readers to accept on faith,
Nah, the other readers hopefully READ what I posted as well as the link I gave.

Listen, this is boring as all get out so I will let you get in the last dig and be done with trying to reason with someone who is obviously unreasonable. After all, if I wanted to hear someone twist logic to support bigotry, I would just tune in to "All in the Family". Well. this is "Meathead" signing out!

Boy the way Glen Miller played,
Songs that made the hit parade,
Guys like us we had it made,
Those were the days,
And you know where you were then,
Girls were girls and men were men,
Mister we could use a man like Herbert Hoover again,
Didn't need no welfare states
Everybody pulled his weight,
Gee our old Lasalle ran great,
Those were the days

(Which is ironic, since Mike Stivic was an atheist! :D )
