To be honest, I actually think she looked relieved not to win, you'll see what I mean when you watch it, I think it was too much for her. I'll try to find tonights show to post for you.

I just watched it. I don't know that I agree with you that she looked relieved. I suspect she wanted to win more than anything in the world. She was definitely a very gracious loser, though, and I am sure she will now have the singing career she wants. It's not as if she is going to fade into obscurity now that the finals are over. And who knows, if the Queen wants to hear her sing, I'm sure that will happen, too.

Yet another example of how obsessed we are with image. Still what I don't understand is the huge numbers of people who expressed outrage that this women was treated badly for being ugly and yet consistently and continuously buy in to this value of beauty by spending time on their own appearence. If you really don't think that beauty matters then why do you care how you look? If you do think beauty matters then why are you outraged?

Does everyone know that Susan has been put into a clinic in London? I believe she went voluntarily - everyone was worried when she was "looking spaced out" - she is suffering from exhaustion and something else which I cant remember....Piers Morgan said she is doing well though and is on the mend..:yes:

They said she was "emotionally drained".Apparently she went in to the clinic Sunday(yesterday) the day after the final show.It mentioned that she had exploded I think on Friday at the tabloids as well.

I dont think most average people could avoid "cracking" under the kind of pressure and scrunity she has been slung into so suddenly.How could anyone prepare for that who spent the last 47 years living just an average quiet and private life.

They said her dream a little dream debut is the 5th most down loaded youtube video in history.And I dont know if this is official but another comment was made that her name was the most downloaded "woman" in history.

I hope she gets rested up and comes back singing loud!!!

They said she was "emotionally drained".Apparently she went in to the clinic Sunday(yesterday) the day after the final show.It mentioned that she had exploded I think on Friday at the tabloids as well.

I dont think most average people could avoid "cracking" under the kind of pressure and scrunity she has been slung into so suddenly.How could anyone prepare for that who spent the last 47 years living just an average quiet and private life.

She will be fine..Poor thing..I think she is beautiful and sweet.She just didnt have the "jade" in her ..She isnt made of steel.

I'll be in line to buy her first CD.Her voice is like an angel.

She doesnt have to put on a fancy dress or go on a diet or dye her hair for me.Susan Boyle has GOT TALENT and she seems to be just a sweet person on top of that.

She has my support 100%.

She has both..She has a beautiful voice..and an beautful spirit..Her Beautiful spirit shines through her singing.You can hear it.

When she sings she makes you feel good.I know thats selfish..But I wish people would quit picking on her.

When I first saw her "debut" I posted it on a thread here I made a couple months ago.

Her "akwardness" just added to what endeared me to her.She is a natural.

It seems the "negativity" and picking on her is what got to her.

It is a bit sad, she is hospitalised because the stress caused by the backlash against her aggravated an existing mental health issue

She was only in the hospital for a brief time. I saw a follow-up on her and she's supposedly doing very well, planning tours, recording an album. She seemed to do being much, much better than right after the competition. I'm glad.
