Taking a break for a while.

I don't usually announce such things - I usually just drift away. But RF is just too much of a temptation these days and I have a lot I need to be getting on with, so I'm making an announcement. That way, next time I wake up in the morning thinking "I'll just quickly check RF before I start writing / painting / building / gardening / biking / hiking / meditating / exploring / baking / strumming" I'll go "Damn - I can't go back there so soon, I made a big dramatic announcement that I was taking a break!"

I'll try to stick to following up on responses to this post and maybe a couple ongoing threads, but only until tomorrow night. Then I'm quitting cold turkey.
I understand.
So hard to do.
So hard to maintain.
The choice is never final.
It is made daily.

Hi all - I'm back! Sort of. I'm doing jobs that don't involve much time spent bored at the PC, which cuts down the forum time pretty drastically. I'm teaching music and working in a music store, and I have an increasing number of gigs and practices in my spare time. I've also picked up a few new hobbies I want to maintain, like learning natual building and organic gardening techniques. Also, Wampus and I started an iPhone app developer business (Wampus writes games) and are about to launch our first product, so quite a lot of time is going to that as well. Anyway, with all these new habits and hobbies becoming nicely integrated into my routine, it seems that whatever personal transformation necessitated my forum fast is pretty much wrapping up. So I'm not barring myself any more. How much time is left for forum participation remains to be seen...

Glad you're back! I've missed you. Somehow I never saw this thread until just now, so I often wondered where you were. I figured you needed a break, and hoped it wouldn't be permanent, and now here you are!

Well, I'm off again. I'm leaving soon to work on a movie on the other side of the country for a couple of months, which means 12 to 16 hour days, 6 or 7 day weeks and, sadly, no computers. I thought I'd revive this thread rather than start another. :)

On a serious note, take care.
