Ironically enough,
Accidents in the back seat can cause children.

On the stretch of I-10 between San Antonio and El Paso, there's a lot of empty road, but one encounters a few fast drivers going 100+. I never had the guts to go that fast, and the last time around in my truck, I was facing a heavy headwind and couldn't get faster than 80.
Everything along the 40 between the 15 in Barstow to the 35 in Oklahoma City is a lot of empty road, lol.

No, I tried to ride one once at my uncle's farm when I was a kid. It didn't go too well.
If you're not constantly driving them, they tend to go wherever they decide they want to...but if they're pulling a load and you don't keep them going, they tend to stop...

That wouldn't be so bad, if they stopped when the driver is drunk. It's better than crashing into a barn.

Where I live the kid would lose his licence, get an enormous fine and be made to take his test again when his ban was eventually up. And if he was not insured for the car his old-man would get nicked 'n'all. :p
Yep. And he might have to take the feared "idiot test" before he can take a drivers test. The so-called idiot test is a psychological assessment to tell if you are mentally stable enough to be allowed to drive a car.

Wow! OK...... very good.
Actually, in UK he'd probably get zillions of hours of community service as well.

We don't think that high speed on public roads is funny or exciting any more. Our press would write up the incident as 'moron kid drives fat cat's car to the crusher'.
:p

I really want to go back to a race track. I spent some time a few years ago at Laguna Seca with CBR600RR and had an absolutely amazing time.

We have our own cork screw in the road close to our village. Very similar to Laguna Seca although i have never driven it. A slight rise, fast right to finish the rise followed by blind adverse camber left that drops rapidly about 6 metres. Get it wrong and you and up dropping into a field. I would not try to take it at more than 80kph. Luckily the speed limit here is 80kph.

When i lived in the UK, 3 or 4 times a year hubby and i would take ours cars to various tracks. Really good fun.

On a holiday to Germany i did the Nurburgring in under 8 minutes in a borrowed Zonda R and under 9 minutes in my XKR.

I wish we had something like that here. Our driving tests are so incredibly easy.

Our driving tests may be a bit harder (and lot more expensive) but you are only send to the psych evaluation by a judge and only if there is serious doubt of your mental stability. That doubt comes up routinely with multiple or very serious DUI or extreme reckless driving. (Though an acquaintance of me got there for parking tickets (over 100 in one year) and another for drug use (even though not while driving). Constantly disobeying rules is seen as a possible sign of mental instability.)
