Several countries disagree with how America is handling it all.

Gender dysphoria is rising—and so is professional disagreement

To be fair, several countries disagree with how America handles medicine.

(Sorry couldn’t resist.)

Disagreement in medicine is healthy and our modern understanding of this phenomenon is fairly recent. It will require a lot more research. People are complicated by nature. That medicine takes a preventative approach by default means this is a thing handled during and even before puberty. Which perhaps increases the complications. Which is why surgery is usually held off for as long as possible.

I wish it was clear cut. But we will need to proceed with caution

Source on the "2,000%"?
@icehorse. Not only this but
Even if true put the numbers in perspective? Trans folk are and have always been a small number. Just cuz there's a 2000% increase doesnt mean a lot more people have transitioned. For example if only 1 person had say brown hair dyed yesterday then today there's now only 2 people with brown hair dyed it would be a 100% increase in folk with brown hair dyed if im understanding correctly

So how many identified as such previously and how many do now?

I read your source again very small number.
More adolescents with no history of gender dysphoria are presenting at gender clinics. For example, a recent analysis of insurance claims found that nearly 18,000 US minors began taking puberty blockers or hormones from 2017 to 2021, the number rising each year.
Do you realize how many youth are in the US? 18,000 is not many kids.

You missed what that thread was about. Its about how others countries don't agree with how tge US is handling things.

I thought my comment of "Several countries disagree with how America is handling it all" was pretty clear

I'm just pointing out that the argument that there's an increase thus the US should change things is moot.

"Meanwhile, the number of US private clinics focused on providing hormones and surgeries have grown from just "a few a decade ago to more than 100 today."

A few is defined as a small number but lets go with 10.

10 to 100

What percent increase is that for clinics?

10% I believe. Not sure I have dyscalculia and suck at math

I suck at math. But looking at the study I linked it lists the exact numbers and they all sound small to me compared to the amount of minors in the US.
5.1% of people between the ages of 18 to 29 say their gender differs from their sex that was assigned at birth. (2% transgender, 3% nonbinary).

Ok so still to me that seems very small

How many people are 18-29 in the US
53.5 million (16.1%)

So of that 16.1%, 5.1% say say their gender differs from their sex that was assigned at birth.

53.5 million x.051= 2.78 million

That's still over 50 million that arent trans

2.78 million is hardly a fun trend folk are doing. It is small in comparison.

There are more folk left handed then trans folk

I bet if we look there was a similar increase in left handedness once it became more accepted
I bet there its a bigger increase in tattoos but we aren't talking about tattoos or left handedness.

Keep in mind none of those links I posted include anyone under 18 years of age.
