I have covered this ground before -- people accusing me of making claims when all I have are beliefs -- so I know the difference between a claim and a belief. What I have is a belief that the physical body of Jesus never rose from the dead, but I do not "claim" it never happened because I cannot prove it never happened, nobody can. The only way it could ever be proven that Jesus never rose from the dead and walked around is if the bones of Jesus were found and identified. Unless that happens (and even in spite of it happening) people will continue to believe whatever they want to believe and argue about the evidence or lack thereof.

I know it sounds like a claim because I am so adamant about disbelieving it, but it is not a claim according to the definition of the word.

What I should have said is "The belief that this will happen in the future is in conflict with what is objectively evident at this time."

Good catch. You are correct in saying that something may or may not potentially occur in the future is not in conflict with what is objectively evident now since it has not occurred yet. It's not even related to objective evidence since it has not occurred yet. It's related to probability.

Why do you think Jesus returning and people rising from their graves is based upon historical evidence? I would say that people rising from their graves is based upon what is in accord with reason and science, and Jesus returning is based upon what Jesus promised to do on the New Testament, since that is all we have to go on. Jesus never promised to return to Earth, not even once in the New Testament, and in fact the NT has Jesus saying that His work in this world is finished and He is no more in the world. Why then do most Christians believe that Jesus is coming back?
