Although they've no parts biological

The evidence is, with out using the presupposition of evolution, there are no known or verifiable ancestors of life forms in the fossil record. We see whole, complicated life forms bursting on the scene with no previous fossil record in the cambrian explosion and some of them are still alive today with no evidence of evolution.

Complete rubbish, the lifeforms in the cambrian do have ancestors in the pre-cambrian and none of the lifeforms in the cambrian are alive today.

Texas -

I hope the rest of the country follows suit, but I'm not holding my breath. Real science is winning out in Texas.

"The measure from Republican state Rep. Bill Zedler would prohibit public institutions of higher education from discriminating against or penalizing faculty members or students, in regard to employment or academic support, based on their "conduct of research relating to the theory of intelligent design or other alternate theories of the origination and development of organisms."

Texas Bill Would Protect College Professors Who Question Evolution, Christian News, The Christian Post

Just reading between the lines here, but it seems to me that this bill is more for students who wish to study biology but can't because they refuse to accept basic tenets of the field. Intelligent design is a joke in the scientific community, I find it hard to believe that there is an overwhelming number of professors who refuse to accept evolution and need a law like this passed.

Well, This law is for Texas...
I mean, the only other place I can see a "real" need for this kind of asininity is California.
Looks like Texas wins this round...

This article is another "only in America" occurence. Where else in the world are politicians stupid enough to bother with such a crock of nonsense?

Well, the Texas legislature is against sex education and removed questionable things from history books (by questionable, they mean "historically accurate").

I don't know if this yahoo really cares about ID, but it is unquestionable that he's stroking the ego of his hopelessly idiotic Republican constituency.

Tis true this legislation couldn't change much, since Cdesign Proponentsists don't actually do any research. Seems like nothing more than a vote grab in a benighted religious constituency.

Now if we could only get legal protection for our Flat-Earth geologists, alchemists and phrenologists America could reclaim science's cutting edge.
