I mean....I did appreciate Thatcher's views on the EU and the ECB.
However...watching this video...I am realizing I am a proud socialist, despite of what she says here.

And one more thing...dearest Margareth...
Yes. I'd rather see the rich getting much less rich, if that is what is needed to reduce the gap among classes.
I do not want that gap. I want it to be reduced to zero. Zeroed.

A friend said to me recently, that Margaret Thatcher caused more damage to the UK than the Luftwaffe did. I had to agree with him.I think the harm done by her government, to British society as a whole, and especially in former industrial communities, will take longer to heal than did the wounds of WWII.

Correct, she killed industry, and devastated the housing market.

I hated her with a passion BUT I'd rather have her as leader than the current muppet.
She knew we were better off in Europe
She was a competent leader even if I disagreed with 90% of her policies.
She was not in hock to the Russians and Saudis

It depends on what the British wanted the EU to be.;)
If that vision was compatible with the vision France, Italy and Germany have. Was it?

Well...Her Highness says that money is not a public good.
It is, dearest. It is an instrument, not an end.
It is the means that makes economy works, and the State can spend thriftlessly if that is for the good of the citizens.
Because more hospitals, more highways, more schools = more employment for nurses, factory workers, janitors.

It seems to me that the Baroness should have become a private company accountant.
I wonder if she has ever understood the difference between public law and commercial law.

Did you miss my first post in this thread? May I remind you of my first statement....

"I hated her with a passion ...."

In no way am I defending her but at least she understood what fascism was and how to avoid it. She also promoted people based on ability not on adulation of the dear leader.

The gap is irrelevant. What matters is the quality of life for everyone.

Leftists are motivated by greed and envy, not what’s best for all people.

Why should you and I care about how much money Zuckerberg and Musk have?

I do not care indeed.
I do care if some greedy bankers prevent the State from printing money, by stealing the Seigniorage from the State

I want the rich to stay rich.
I just want the State to guarantee full employment within a macroecononic system.

Peter Mandelson, a minister in Tony Blair's New Labour government, once famously said "I am quite relaxed about people getting filthy rich so long as they pay their taxes." Most people only remember the first part of the sentence, and he got a lot of criticism for saying it, especially as a Labour minister. But the second part of the sentence is key, and that's what government ministers of all shades should be thinking about. The UK, ironically, has become a haven for Russian and Saudi kleptocrats, and a soft touch for a home grown aristocracy which grew rich on the slave trade.
