I should've done this months ago, really, but I've been dealing with a ton of crap over the past year or so. But this is it.
My landlord (slumlord) was over here on Monday with some idiot (probably another hustler he paid under the table, like usual), tinkering around with the pipes next door and the morons screwed up what little water I had. I've had no water since then. I pay my utility bills, so it wasn't shut off by the city. There's a tiny trickle that comes out of the kitchen facet, but that's all the water there is. No water to the second floor, the bathroom. No water in the toilet. Can't flush it and can't get enough water out of the kitchen facet to flush it. So my toilet is currently an unsanitary disaster. I have Irritable Bowel Syndrome which, if you know about, causes diarrhea at times so you can imagine...
The landlord knows about it. I've been calling him and I also asked him on Monday why my water was off. He said they're trying to fix the pipes next door and it'll be back on "when they're finished". He didn't tell me anything about this. I don't know why they're bothering with next door, since no one's living there and my place has been in a broken down state since we moved in!
There's a huge hole in the kitchen ceiling where they had to open it up to get to the water lines since the pipes had burst before we moved in and there was no water to the second floor at all at first (the landlord is a cheap *** ******* who doesn't pay for utilities when no one is living in the property and I'm still paying the water bill, which is in his name), many of the windows are broken, the shower doesn't work and the bathtub is too filthy to even be around (I've never taken a shower or bath here), there's another broken toilet full of human waste next to the semi-working toilet (which is breaking, too), the lawn hadn't been mowed or tended to in months so it's growing wild and looking like a fierce jungle, the basement steps are warped and flimsy, the kitchen and bathroom floors are ruined and falling apart, there's paint chips and plaster falling from the walls, there's a severe bedbug and roach infestation, there's mice, etc. I have no hot water now since the water heater needs a pressure relief valve, so the gas company couldn't turn that on.
He told me that he would be over here this morning with a "plumber", and he wasn't. He's also not answering his phone. I also told him about the bedbugs and roaches and he actually told me point blank that he's not going to do anything about it! What hubris!
