This is "my" truth, though I think it is everyone's but have no way to have any certainty about it.
Consciously, we have no direct access to to reality, the absolute truth. The "truth" that we experience is a product of the unconscious mind which is a facsimile of reality based on it's evolutionary programming. Because of that, the truth we actually experience is flexible. It can include anything the unconscious is capable of producing as an experience, including gods, divine/spiritual experiences, pretty much anything one is willing to consciously invest enough belief into.
I see our basic goal as survival, for as long as we can manage it. Whatever helps us towards that goal is all good.
So while our unconscious may have access to reality, consciously we never will. So might as well make the best of the situation and try to experience whatever "reality" will bring us the most happiness.
