The Afghan and Iraq Wars are Unjust, Unreasonable, and are Entirely Fraudulent.

They are unjust.

They are not unreasonable as there is a reason behind them: making money.

They are fraudulent in several ways.

And they almost single handedly created the environment from which ISIS was created.

Countless people from Afghanistan and Iraq and the US would have not been killed and wounded.

And imagine what could have been done in the areas of domestic education, energy, infrastructure, and keeping the national debt at a static level, with all the money spent on the wars and other Bush-era costs like the tax cuts and Medicare Part D.

The trillion+ student loan pool could have been drastically reduced with better education funding rather than ascending to be the second biggest source of American debt after mortgages, resulting in people in their 20's and 30's having much higher economy-boosting disposable income. Roads, bridges, tunnels, and public transportation could have received massive updates for safety and efficiency, resulting in a lot of work for people. Projects to expand domestic research and production of renewable energy could have also contributed to job creation and a cleaner country. The national debt could be lower as a percentage of GDP.

Where should I begin?
Well, we could discuss the engineers of the biggest foreign policy disaster in US history.
That would be the Bush Administration. Who also managed to meltdown the economy and blow the federal debt into the stratosphere.
And we could discuss the partisan hacks who still think Bush was a good president. And that our problems are Obama's fault.

I think you're naive.....it's worse than you think.
The wars aren't fraudulent....leaders are sincerely pursuing them.
Of course, sincerity is a dangerous thing when paired with incompetence, hubris, & blood lust.

What do you mean when you say sincere? Do you mean they accept the rationale and believe what they are doing is right?
Aye, they believe they're doing the right thing, eg, helping the people of the attacked countries, preventing terrorism, nation building. Scary, ain't it? Were it a conspiracy to enrich the weapons industry or somehow get some oil out of the debacles, then it could be perhaps ended by mere exposure of the malefactors. But if they actually believe the hokum they proffer, then it's a more intractable problem.
Moreover, the voters like the wars. They re-elected both Dubya & Barry during continued wars. And now, Hillary (a known hawk) is a major contender for the Dem nomination. Even scarier, ain't it?

I think it's more likely they were acting in their own interest and didn't care about the reasons.

It is.

Our military-industrial complex has grown to a point that the US economy depends on it. If we couldn't find outlets for our munitions and work for our military our economy would collapse.

Going to war against Iraq was literally insane, and we had some justification to attack some Afghan sites, especially training facilities, but invading that country was no less insane than going to war with Iraq. The decision was made by those who simply did not understand the culture and much of the history of the region, and the outcomes we've seen were all too predictable.

Unfortunately, even some Middle Eastern experts, such as Bernard Lewis and Thomas Friedman, got carried away with a La La Land hypothesis, and Lewis even advised Rumsfeld that going into Iraq would work. At least Friedman has admitted his mistake.
