The Antichrist Thread

It honestly makes more sense than what you propose. Do you even know who this man is? What's his name? At least Christians know who they worship. It sounds like you had a dream or hallucination and take it too literally.
No and no. Don’t need to. No hallucination or dream. I sense his presence on earth with my mind.

Well, that's nice for you but totally irrelevant to anyone else. Anyone worthy of worship would at least tell you their name. You cannot truly know a being without knowing their name. Names are very powerful. So a entity that won't tell you their name is likely deceiving you.

He wouldn’t be that dumb to say it was him because he knows people would just chalk him up as a person with Messiah complex. Even if the world did believe him and god wrote it in a book some deranged individual would end up trying to kill him unfortunately. God made it this way. For good reason obviously.

I understand the whole Christian camaraderie thing. Also the church would lose followers if they preached the truth imo. Plus the Bible makes for a more interesting story than mine, it’s all good.

There's many living people who are worshipped as deities, including children in various areas of the world like India and elsewhere. I find that a cheap excuse.

Well, the Christian argument is just more convincing than your argument and I don't have a dog in the fight here. You don't even have a name or know who it is you worship. You're in a religion of one.

Nah. I believe Christian’s know who the real “Jesus” is. I’m not that gullible.

But are these children worshipped as being responsible for existence itself?
No, just like your guy isn't responsible for existence itself in the way you present it. However, the children I'm thinking of are usually seen as incarnations of various deities, such as when children with birth defects are born in various cultures and worshipped as avatars of deities. That's an example but it also includes the Dalai Lama, which is a position judged by by birth and starting with children who are viewed as reincarnations of prior leaders.

But their birth or death doesn't begin or end the world because the Cosmos exists separately from any individual that exists within it. In most forms of religion of I know of, the Cosmos either pre-exists the deities or it was something that was created (or rather shaped and formed) through a collabaration of a team of divinities. My own religion, Germanic religion, is a sort of mixture of the two perspectives when it comes to creation/what brought this all into being.

I was a Christian before and Jesus was just Jesus. He was always Jesus of Nazareth who lived around 2,000 years in Roman Judea and was crucified at Golgotha under sedition charges. It's the same person that Christians believe was resurrected from the dead and will one day return from Heaven. I think modern, more skeptical people have a problem believing in traditional religious beliefs and so you have ideas like yours popping up. That's not the only thing that can cause ideas like that, though.

The truth about how we got here and where we’re going isn’t in a book imo. It’s out there for each of us to find it imo. Life’s more complicated than some inked passage.

I agree it's not found in a book but if you expect others to share your views, you need some selling point.
