If the point is that a corporate profit-based media conglomerate is a poor means of communicating scientifically accurate information then yes, I agree. Science reporting is usually disappointing and emphasizes the spectacle and omits the details. But this is for science reporting in general, not just biology. And none of this has any bearing on the validity of evolution.I think you miss the point. The public is bombarded with new discoveries "proving" evolution. The media was blitzed with news of Ida, including a book and TV documentary, according to AP. Then, when the facts come to light, the PUBLIC are not bombarded with these facts. More like, "Evolution is true, Evolution is true, oh, by the way, Ida isn't the proof of evolution we claimed it was, Evolution is true...."
