There are over 25 members around Truro, apparently. To be honest, I'm not surprised. Cornish people are some of the most overtly racist people I've ever met. Get this - I'm an immigrant, and British people living in Cornwall regularly bend my ear about how immigrants are stealing British jobs and ruining the country. Not in a mean way, just in a chatting-by-the-water-cooler, friendly chit-chat, time-passing kind of a way. And when I wave my hand around in the air and go "Uh - hello?" they say things like "Oh, well not you, of course. You're alright." If I ask why they mutter something about the ones who have trouble with English (never mind none of them can speak anything BUT English). But anyway, their meaning is clear - they just hate Eastern Europeans and anyone who isn't white.
You want my opinion, it's the tabloids. There are hardly any non-white immigrants in Truro. I mean, there's the Lebanese guy with the Falafel shop, the Indian family with the curry restaurant, and a couple Chinese families with Chinese restaurants, but none of them stole anybody's jobs - they brought their own, and I can't help but notice none of those little-minded ******** has a peep to say about immigrants when they're joyously stuffing their faces with something other than boiled meat in Bovril-water for a change.
Don't think they haven't got a chance. That's what we all thought of the "Alliance" party, Canada's own nutbar right-wing white supremacist extremists. But the Progressive Conservatives hit a wobble and before you know it, BAM, we have Stephen Harper, Machiavellian right wing extremist puppetteer and wannabe neo-con sidekick, for Prime Minister. And a Creationist chiropractor for Science Minister.
Just saying, things can go very badly very quickly. But the answer is not to make them illegal, since that feeds their whole schtick of being oppressed outsiders fighting to regain their place in society. It's better to debate with them in the open and let people draw their own conclusions. The mistake we made in Canada is we did not press them hard enough on their racism or their desire to legislate Christian morality. We let Harper frame the debate. He's a professional propagandist, so he knew exactly what topics to avoid, and not only avoided them himself, but gagged all the candidates in his party to ensure none of them would stray from the script.

It's ironic that my wife, son and I left a rapidly anti-immigrant neo-nazi rise in the U.K. to come back to the states to an Obama presidency.

They are stading up for racism. They are evil, they HATE non-white, non-christians living in the UK. They are evil, they want to kick all the non-white population out of the country. Anyone who votes for the BNP is an evil thug. ALL of them. Not one of them can be a nice person. A group of boys kicked my door in...Why? Because we are not white!! Their family are BNP voters.If they're standing up for the interests of the white population then of course they're going to sound racist. In this world it seems that only white people can be caught being racist.
In my experience, white kids just don't go around and beat people up. Then again, my cousins probably fabricate their stories because i don't know any better and live 12000km away.
England sounds the reverse of Oz. Here, we have to form gangs to stop the Muslim gangs beating the crap out of us and stealing our wallets/phones. Having said that, these muslim gangs consist of about 1% of the muslim population. The rest are good people. Its frustrating how good people always bring the scum with them no matter where they're from
I do not feel sorry for white people in my country. I think most people in the UK have a racist agenda. Some make it secret, some don't.
The BNP are among the worst people in the world. The quicker they dissapear the better. In a time where we need to be tolerant and accepting of each other, they are doing the opposite. They are turning people against each other.
What's more, you are defending them, that is what shocks me.
You live in Oz too, what your family says is without a doubt biased. They live a among many "minorities" and I am sure, they feel a little animosity towards them. I am not saying your family are bad, i sometimes have moments where I hate this country and its people. Moments, not all the time. Over here, it is not that safe for a non-white immigrant.
Especially with these newspapers and their "the poles are taking all the jobs!" When the blacks came, it was their fault. When the Asians came, it was their fault. Now the East Europeans are here, it is their fault now! If they want their jobs, work for them. If they work for little, then you work for less, or you don't work.
The public like to have a scapegoat... The same happened in Hitlers rise to power. Have we not learn from history?

Although I do wonder if bashing them only helps them recruit and position themselves as poor, disenfranchised, trod-upon-by-foreigners whites. Sometimes I think the best way to deal with ugliness, instead of feeding the narrative, is to turn the ugly into the ridiculous. Because evil usually is ridiculous. Consider G.W. Bush. In a perfect world, they'd be laughed out of politics - not driven out by an angry mob.

Racism can potentially be seen as maintaining the integrity of the nation. I don't say i agree, but remember this. As an outsider, when we see stories about something on England, 9 times out of 10 there aren't any white people in the footage. Most of them are here
, 1 in every 3 customers i serve at work are English (its great, i love chatting about football) To someone like myself who doesn't pay a great deal of attention to how England runs, it seems as though the white superiority is dying. I may be completely wrong, but its just a feeling i get. My family is upper middleclass. When Spurs have home matches they don't get wet
I'm fairly sure my family doesn't support the BNP, but they do agree on some issues, much like myself. As parents they're concerned there won't be any jobs for my cousins when they finish university unless they work on a slave wage. Their concerns are reasonable and mirrored across the western world. For the record i'm not defending the party per se, im defending aspects of their mentality that i agree with because the same thing's they're standing up for in England are happening across the world, and no one is standing up for it.
Thats easily fixed. If these people don't like it, don't immigrate to England. Its the same here, except we havn't got the equivalent of the BNP (YET).
The award wage drops when these people come. Here we have problems with Indians and Asians doing the same thing. A structural engineer used to get paid and average of $54,000 as a graduate. In 6 years, that has dropped to $45,000. When you look at the statistics compiled by my university, the amount of students graduating from Australian universities is the same, those from (mainly, but not only) Asian or Indian universities is growing. I guess you could blame the employer, but then they'd be called a racist for employing only Australian kids as opposed to the best person for the job.
Now, would this annoy you? If this happens in Engineering, medicine, biochemistry and in professions requiring degrees, you could bet your house it happens throughout the workforce.
Although my field has been somewhat affected, i'll get a comfortable wage when i graduate regardless. However, for people earning a smaller wage, say $30,000, wouldn't people comming over and making your job cheaper annoy the hell out of you?

Im middleclass. Here in Australia we struggle, my father works 60ish hours a week for us to survive. My mum hang a debilitating lung disease, she still has to work. My English family are the snobs lol.

People who are not really racists don't feel compelled to put "per se" after statements to the effect that they are not racists, and it usually isn't followed by a "but". In fact, they don't usually feel the need to say "I'm not defending the BNP" at all, because there is no situation where the BNP could be considered reasonable need to deny supporting it. This is your second "per se". Just something to consider.
Secondly, you are aware, I hope, that in many cases it is possible for a person who is not white to be born in the UK? And for their parents to have been born there? And their parents parents? Are you saying their deceased ancestors, if they don't like what is happening to their native British great-great grandchildren, should retroactively move back home? Or to go even further, maybe they should never have gotten themselves colonized to begin with and avoided getting the false impression that they are a part of British society to begin with. Where do you think non-white native-born British people should go back to?

I know, Don was born in England, he is English. Can you now recognise the need for me to say i don't fully support the BNP. FFS, i'm talking about current immigration (as in the last 10 years) and now i'm a racist who thinks everyone who's not white should be kicked out of England.
Is it worth me continuing, or are you going to turn what i say on its head to suit yourself and your superior opinion? I find it all too convenient that you completely ignored the last part of my post where i posted facts within a period of 6 years. I'm relating issues within England to here in Australia with my own opinions. The English part of my family have the same concerns as the rest of my family wherever they live in the world. In all honesty, my cousins are drop-kicks passing school because daddy has his chequebook ready. They don't deserve a job. In saying that, im sure many fully qualified English people (of any background) could become disgruntled when someone who's been in England for 2 years and can't speak English gets a job in front of them. Do you get what im trying to say? Is it fair to say this issue extends past the BNP? Its not like its only hard for white people to get a job. Perhaps non-white people may be reluctant to open their mouths because they can be easily percieved as immigrants as well?
I'll say it now, im sorry for disliking the open-door policy my country and England holds in terms of immigration. Perhaps i should go put my white pointy hat on and go lynch some non-white people
