I'm personally not angry about it, however i can understand why some people might be. The reasons for being angered is the sentiment attempted to be shown by this action, or angered by the fact that some thing they hold dear is being treated this way publicly on purpose to convey a message of hate towards Islam and Muslims etc.. something along those lines.
Not really more, burning books in general is pretty stupid. I guess the only difference is that religious books are usually held dear by a big number of people.
Of course it saddens me to hear about anyone burning another's holy book. However, I find it beyond disturbing when people react just as those who burn the book want them to. It just proves their point, does it not?
I fail to understand what burning flags, buildings, people, etc. will serve in terms of disproving the stereotypes. There is nothing wrong with being upset, but find a constructive way to react...perhaps starting with bettering yourself and reacting NON-violently.
Anyone who has read my posts knows that I strongly condemn violent behavior in general, and especially in cases like this.
It kinda tickles me when I see some idiot on T.V. trying to oraganize the burning of a Holy Qur'an. I mean, seriously, aren't they all Christians ? Just goes to show what kind of class they have. And why are we burning Qur'ans ? Because of 9/11 ? Yeah, that was damn near 10 years ago. The fact of the matter is if Muslims really wanted to kill Americans -- we'd be dead.
Reality is that since 9/11, there hasn't been a single attack on American soil. And don't even try and tell me it is because our government is stopping all these so-called threats. I think you should look inside your own government or a shadow government before you go on blaming Muslims for 9/11.
Seriously now, are you telling me that if a Muslim was hell-bent on killing innocent Americans, he couldn't do it ? Sure you can say it happened at Fort Hood - i'm not denying that, but still. Has it happened at a shopping Mall or a Movie Theatre or something like that ? No.
Reality is Islam is the fastest growing religion on the planet. People are scared of this, christians are scared of this. One day Islam will have the biggest following of people in the world. I can't wait for that day. What a glorious day that will be.
If anything the Bible should be thrown in the gutter for the endless amount of contradictions in it. Hell, most people who believe in the Bible can't even agree on who god is- Jesus or Jehovah. Then you have Jehovah Witnesses running around saying Hell doesn't exist, ect, and that Trinity is B.S. Then, on the other hand, there are people who say Trinity is real. What a bunch of nonsense. My advice is to drop your Bible and go pick up a Holy Qur'an and educate yourself.
Also, what did you think about people setting LeBron James' Jersey on Fire when he left Cleveland and went to Miami ? roflmfao. get out of here.

I'm not Alex Jones but the fact of the matter is there is far more evidence supporting an inside job than there is supporting your governments account of what happened that day. Don't ask me to do your homework for you, either.
Planes heading from America to England ( Dec 2001 ) Richard Reid ( Shoe Bomber, 2002 ) the others I don't know nor do I care. Fact of the matter is NOBODY could stop some American Muslim from purchasing a handgun and going on a killing spree. That's the cold hard reality. And reality is that has yet to happen ( 10 years later )...
So, please, try again.
The whole Islam being the number 1 fastest growing religion came from " Perry Stone " some hardcore Muslim-Hating Christian. Go Figure. I'm sure you know all about him too.
I'll bet you haven't read a single Surah, nevermind the whole thing. Reality is the Holy Qur'an is intellectually superior to the Bible on so many levels it's not even fair to compare the two. The Bible was made for little school kids. The Holy Qur'an, on the other hand, was made for educated people.
Just shows how up-to-date you are on wordly things. Probably too busy reading your Bible trying to figure out which god to worship - Jesus or Jehovah. roflmfao.
I don't see anything barbaric about burning one book. I didn't perceive any indication of hate on the part of the person who did it. Obviously he didn't agree with the book and wnated to display that disagreement in a dramatic fashion. I doubt very much that the book will go out of print or lack adherents because of it.
Ok, I understand it from your point of view but than with that logic wouldn't you even say that in terms of faith and religion they have lost it, or at least comprehending it the wrong way? I mean, after all I think all religion have a room for "God forgive them for they not know"... Plus its not like someone came to their house and burned it.
On a side note I do not condone burning of any type of books. Books are what brought us here so far. It appears the best way to preserve knowledge.
I agree that burning books is pretty stupid.
But when and if someone does so, it reflects more upon them than it does the book.
It's the reaction to the burning of the book that reflects upon those who hold it dear.
To Muslims, I have a question.... Is there any movement within Islam to discredit violent
reactions to literary related offenses (eg, book burning, cartoons) as un-Islamic?
Please. You are so far off base with your insults that no one can take you seriously. Could you please try to make your points without threats and bashing other religions? I agree with YmirGF that you are probably quite young. Instead of insulting the Bible, which we are to hold in high regard, not "thrown in the gutter", try to make your points based on fact.
Whatever. I'm not going to argue with you.
And why should I not bash other religions when people are trying to portray Muslims as nothing but throat-slitting extremists?
Also, am not too young. 26 years old. Is that young ? I don't think so. I am pushing 30 and feel old as hell. And why in the hell would I hold the Bible " in high regard " ?
Last check, I heard that they were literally going to rewrite the Bible to add in Dinosaurs ? What a joke! I don't know if that is true or not, but I did overhear some " Christians " talking about it, and even they thought it was stupid.
Sighs...
Feeling old at 26 is indicative that you are doing something wrong. You should have tons of energy as you are entering the prime of your life. That said, at 26, you are little more than a child to me.Also, am not too young. 26 years old. Is that young ? I don't think so. I am pushing 30 and feel old as hell.
Beats me. Should you? I don't give a rat's hindquarters as to what the Bible or the, oh, so illustrious, Qur'an have to say about, well, anything at all. I don't disrespect them, but I certainly don't respect them either, though I do respect other human animals inalienable right to respect whatever they wish. Said human animals simply have no right to expect me to respect their sensitivities. I don't expect them to respect mine. And why in the hell would I hold the Bible " in high regard " ?
