The Challenge in the Qur'an

You might want to be a bit more choosy in your retorts, because your use of "likewise" can be seen as an implication for admitting your own denial, which I don't think you mean.

Just FYI.

Response: Only those who have an inability to comprehend simple english would see it that way. And that is not my issue.

Likewise means "same here." Without specifying, it could legitimately be seen as admitting your own denial.

Nice to see you so agreeable.

Though I suspect you do not realize that you are agreeing.

Response: Nice to see you demonstrating my point with that response.

Though I suspect that you do not realize that you are demonstrating my point.

Conquering nations is nothing less, and likely more, than bullying and using fear to gain converts. In other words, yes, without realizing it, you have.

Now, why do you continue to ignore the fact that I am not trying to disprove the possibility that the Qur'an is from God?

Response: Conquering nations is likely more than bullying and using fear to gain converts? Another statement. Still no proof.

In other words, neither of you know what you're talking about!! LOL

Conquering is invading another person's house, killing the occupant, or forcing him or her to start thinking like you do under pain of death, and then claiming the house as your own. Yeah, I was mistaken. Conquering is far worse than bullying.

Do you wish to provide an alternative to how conquering works?

Besides, you have yet to provide any proof that the condition you proposed is valid. So why should we believe you?

I would be following God, because if I find that the Qur'an is from God, I would still believe that all the other Scriptures (Torah, Gospel, Gita, Kitab-i-Aqdas, Nandinatha Sutras, etc.) are also from God. I'd be following the Scriptures that God intended for me to follow, which I'm still trying to locate. One, I'm pretty sure, is the Bhagavad-Gita.

Therefore, by your logic, I would not be following God simply by not following any one of these Scriptures.

Response: You said that you would not follow God if the qur'an is from God. Therefore, you would disobey God.

 I would not follow the Qur'an if it turns out it's from God, because I don't believe God intended me to be a Muslim.

Besides, I'm speaking in your language. Let me revert to mine to further clarity, by listing some other Scriptures that I believe are Vedic:

The Art of War
Bushido Shoshinshu
Poetics
The Hero With a Thousand Faces
The Book of Five Rings
The Master Course Trilogy

When I say "from God," I mean "Vedic." In other words, they are part of the Vedas. So if I find that the Qur'an is "from God," that means that I'd found that the Qur'an is a Veda.

Response: There's the statement. Where's the proof? The dictionary disagrees.

Which dictionary?

The only ones I consider authoritative are the unabridged Websters Dictionary (the same dictionary that inspired dictionary.com), and the Oxford English Dictionary.

Words have multiple definitions, and words are often used beyond those definitions. Every time I've seen "likewise" used, it's been used in the way that I defined: "same here."

Response: Does the dictionary have the same defintion for conquering as you do? Will it say that the definition is "invading another person's house, killing the occupant, or forcing him or her to start thinking like you do under pain of death, and then claiming the house as your own"? No. Therefore, your definition is wrong. As for proof that the conditions are valid, the proof is in the challenge. The same challenge you wish to dodge.

A verse that says the condition of the challenge is to conquer nations.

Response:The verse has been presented throughout this thread as well as others. It was even presented to you in another thread and you've even commented on it. Why you now act as if you've never seen the verse is beyond me.
