Do you have a link for this? I want to read the whole story.

Never mind, I got it:

Did a Hungry Homeless Man Who Stole $100 Receive a Far Heavier Sentence Than a White-Collar Thief? (snopes.com)

"We were able to confirm Brown pleaded guilty to first degree robbery on 14 January 2009 and was sentenced to 15 years hard labor without the possibility of probation, parole or suspension of sentence, according to the Caddo Parish court clerk’s office. Brown is currently housed at Madison Parish Detention Center until the end of his sentence in 2022. According to a spokesman for the Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections, Brown has the possibility for work release in 2018, meaning if granted he can leave detention to work during daytime hours."

wtf.

I am at a strange point in my life. I have to consider the question: do I need to leave the country so I am not instantly bankrupt when something bad happens?

Dark days indeed....
President can encourage insurrection.
Cops retire on full pay after executing someone.
President can suborn perjury & lie to a grand jury.

When have we not had dark days, eh.
Only the flavors change.

... Light sentences for rapists is most likely liberal democrats fault though.

Strange. The 3rd and 4th wave of feminist protests and intellectual production is pretty much single handedly responsible for improving the investigation and prosecution of sexual crimes. The mainstream feminist movement is a liberal movement with its radical fringe being more of a left wing anarchist one. Considering that fact, why would you say that a conservative judge giving a stupendously low sentence to a rapist is "most likely liberal democrats fault"? That seems like a strange intuition.

But probably not since republicans don't really care about women's dignity, and she was surely asking for it. Don't want to ruin the boy's future, he votes republican. And republicans might as well pass laws that prevent women from their right to end a pregnancy, even if caused by rape, because they care.

I'm curious what our conservative members can point out how republicans have helped the rights of women, and protect them from sexual assault. Should we ignore that they nominated and elected a president with 26 sexual assault accusations, and even bragged about it? No, let's talk about it. Conservatives?

The level of darkness varies.
