Theism = the belief in the existence of God or gods. The problem is that you end up using the same label for some one who merely has no belief either way, / and for some one who actively dis-believes in the idea of a deity. These are two very different positions, not just in semantics, but in format. It simply doesn't work.
Right. And, my argument is that one of the "forms" of the term "atheism" ("atheist") only applies to people. They are two forms of the same term. When you speak of one, the other is present.
Please explain. What line specifically?and again....a line drawn that does not really exist.
the one you cross each time you call a baby an atheist. Please explain. What line specifically?
If I asked them, it wouldn't be "implicit". If they are "ok" with the term as being accurate, they then become "explicit" atheists.the one you cross each time you call a baby an atheist.
You might ask them if that's ...ok
LOL - You mean you want to: Live Ordinary Life?
Sort of. Only one has people as the subject. They both very much apply, though.Right. And, my argument is that one of the "forms" of the term "atheism" ("atheist") only applies to people.
This is the same with "science" and "scientists", "strategy" and "strategist", etc.
It means "laugh out loud". Surprised you didn't know that.LOL - You mean you want to: Live Ordinary Life?
Oh, certaintly I knew that. But sometimes I also want to be creative and look at things from other perspectives. It means "laugh out loud". Surprised you didn't know that.
The minute that the kid has the ability to understand the concept of "atheism", he is no longer "implicitly atheist".imagine the look on a little kids face.....
Hey!......you're an atheist!.....I'm surprised you didn't know that!
Fair enough.Oh, certaintly I knew that. But sometimes I also want to be creative and look at things from other perspectives.
You keep using the implication like a crutch. The minute that the kid has the ability to understand the concept of "atheism", he is no longer "implicitly atheist".

...and then the little guy runs to mommy and points a finger at you.....
you then get arrested.
How am I using it as a crutch? It is what the word means and is the topic of this discussion. I would not be in favor of assigning the term atheism to anyone who could consider the option on their own.You keep using the implication like a crutch.
pretty lame ....I think.
What does this even mean? Were you trying to make a joke?and then the little guy runs to mommy and points a finger at you.....
you then get arrested.
You keep wanting your line drawn....What does this even mean? Were you trying to make a joke?
