CaptainXeroid said:I think NO. People allow themselves to be influenced by negative forces
Yes and Satan plays a role in that also.
but ultimately the individual has free will to do evil or to do good
I agree that the individual has a complete free will to do evil or to do good, but Satan is the one behind committing evil acts. As he was the one behind getting our parents Adam & Eve out of Paradise, he is also now behind the evil that exists in this world.

And he is doing his best by using different ways of temptations in order to gurantee so many dwellers of Hell fire. Satan is the enemy of all humans. If we don't have a strong faith we are easily led by his whispers to disobey God.

It depends on how you define "the Devil." If "the Devil" is seen as representative of people's desires or temptations, malicious schemes, or heartless acts, then "the Devil" does indeed "make" us to things.Sunstone said:Does the Devil actually make people do things? If so, how?

Ultimately though, we have the choice to allow ourselves to be defeated or claim victory over the devil.
In other words...the devil made me do it...doesn't fly.
My guess is that he means a literal supernatural being called "The Devil" or Satan.Willamena said:It depends on how you define "the Devil." Assuming for the moment the existance of such a being, i'd agree with the above quote.WrongWay said:I would agree. A better statement would be"The Devil convinced me to do it", but ultimately it is your choice. :angel2:
